Inky Paws Challenge #252 Week 4

 

It's May and it's  time for a sketch challenge!

Use the sketch to create your next NND project.

You have until Friday, May 29, 2026 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!  The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.  Make sure you check the challenge rules page before you link up your project. 

Here's some inspiration.  

Get creative with this fun sketch. Use the center square to hold your favorite image or sentiment. Try using multiple colors or patterned papers for the layers behind it. Cards for any theme or occasion are welcome as long as they match the sketch. Don't forget you can turn the sketch sideways for more options. Now let's take a peek at the IPC teams' cards.

Amy Tollner creates a bright, cheerful card just purr-fect for the book lover in one's life.  She uses one of the feline images from the Newton's Book Club stamp and coordinating die set with papers from the Coffee House Stories paper pad. She adds a bit of sparkle using the lavender paper from the Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment and makes it into a banner using the banner die from the Frames & Flags die set.  Fabulously fun!

Claire Lamb uses the Newton's Birthday Trio stamp and coordinating die set to send birthday wishes to a loved one. She uses a trio of festive papers from the Birthday Time paper pad. To create her panels and banner, she uses dies from the Bookmark II and the A7 Frames & Banners die sets. Such a darling card!

Danni Bindel opts for a floral card using the flower image from the Little Lilies stamp and coordinating die set. She adds papers from the Pastel Basics paper pad with dies from the Frames & Flags die set. Just love how she uses just lavender and greens to create such a beautiful card!

Debbie Owens couldn't decide whether to make a feline or a canine card, so she made one of each. For her feline birthday card, she uses the music-lovin' Newton from the Newton's Mix Tape stamp set. She adds more musical touches using the Music Notes stencil to create her backdrop.  She creates a banner using the yellow-striped paper from the Pastel Basics paper pad. Her finishing touches include a margarita from the Cocktail Mixer stamp set and a birthday hat from the Newton's Bright Birthday stamp. 

For her canine version, Deb uses the puppy from the Puppy's Mix Tape stamp set with a margarita from the Cocktail Mixer stamp set. She uses the yellow-striped paper from the Pastel Basics paper pad as well as papers from the New Retro paper pack. That pink shimmery panel uses a Retro Mix Toner Front. Her banner uses a die from the Banner Trio die set. Two wonderful birthday cards for someone 21 years or older!

For our final card this week, Kelly Santi is showcasing tulips from the Tulips stamp and coordinating die set as well as the Easter Postage Sampler stamp and coordinating set. Don't you just love how you can mix and match different stamp sets for a wonderfully unique card?  She uses papers from the Bright Basics and the Springtime paper pads. She uses dies from the Essential Tags, the Basic Frames, and the Sea Borders die sets. A bright and beautiful card filled with such lovely tulips!

Here's some inspiration.  

This month's sketch is super fun with the tag element!  The IPC team shows how versatile this sketch is for any occassion. Let's check out their creativity!

Kelly Santi uses the poinsettia toner card front from the 'Tis the Season Toner set in a rainbow of colors which makes for a fabulous background as well as an accent on a tag!  She the uses the Essential Tags die set to create her tag. Her cute puppy is from a retired Newton's Nook Designs STAMPtember set, but any NND image would look spectacular on this glimmery card!

Amy Tollner has created a purr-fect birthday card filled with so much cupcake yumminess! She uses the yellow glitter paper from the Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment with papers from the Birthday Time paper pad. She adds Newton from the Newton's Cupcake stamp and coordinating die set. Boy, doesn't he look happy with all the sugary delights surrounding him! To make her card, Amy uses the Essential Tags die set as well as the Frames & Flags die set. Enjoy!

Claire Lamb is showcasing two of the festive felines from the Christmas Time Cats stamp and coordinating die set, and boy, are they looking ready for Santa!  She uses the bright striped paper from the Christmas Party paper pad as well as the Essential Tags die set. Keep believing little guys!

Danni Bindel creates a bright and cheerful card using the Little Lillies stamp set. The bright teal paper from the Spring Blooms paper pad looks fabulous those pale pink blooms! To create her card, Danni uses the postage-edge die from the Framework die set as well as the Essentials Tags die set for her tag. A beautiful way to beat the gloominess of fall and winter!

Loss of a pet is so difficult, but Debbie Owens has created a sympathy card just right for a grieving pet owner. Her card features papers from the Love & Woofs paper pad which has been die cut using the scallop-edged die from the Frames & Flags die set. She places her sentiment and puppy from the Furr-ever Friends stamp set on a tag cut using the Essentials Tags die set.

Here's some inspiration.  

This month's month sketch is super versatile as you will see with the IPC DTs projects.  Are you inspired to make summer cards, Father's Day cards, Halloween, or maybe even a Christmas one!

Danni Bindel was inspired to make this delightful puppy card using the Fetching Friendship stamp set. She selects papers from the A Dog's Life paper pad and uses the Circle Frames and the Frames & Flags die sets to create her multiple layers.  Love that this pup has a stash of tennis balls!

Debbie Owens is inspired to create a Christmas card. She uses papers from the Canine Christmas paper pad and die cut using the zig-zag frame die from the Frames & Tags die set. She then pulls out the Christmas Puppies stamp set and selects the same puppy as on the paper. Since this is a taller image, Deb opts to use an oval(Oval Frames) instead of a circle from the sketch.  Good job getting a jump start on your Christmas stash with this adorable card!

Amy Tollner decides on a floral card filled with spring freshness. She pulls papers from the Spring Blooms paper pad and layers them on her chartreuse green card base. She uses the Circle Frames die set for her stitched circle on which she has placed some sweet lilies of the valley using the Little Lilies stamp and coordinating die set.  So pretty!

Claire Lamb uses the sketch for this playful card spotlighting this delightful puppy trio from the Spring Heights stamp and coordinating die set. For her background, Claire uses papers from the Spring Blooms and the Pastel Basics paper pads and adds her sentiment in a little stitched circle from the Frames Squared die set. The pink and green combination looks so pretty together!

Crystal Minkler is also adding to her stash of Christmas cards with this festive holiday card. She pulls a trio of pattern papers from the Meowy Christmas paper pad and uses the Framework die set to create her scallop-edged frame. She adds a stitched circle using the Circle Frames die set. The little wreath and sentiment are from the Holiday Postage Sampler stamp and coordinating die set  and add to the festivitity and charm of this pretty card!

Amy's FAVE

Irene creates a spectacular 3D card that will win over any gardener's heart!  She pulls the little flowers from the Garden Whimsy (retired) stamp set and Winston's Honeybees (retired) stamp set to create rows in her garden.  Then she has the super cute Winston (Garden Whimsy) giving the flowers a bit of water. She finishes with little birdies from the Newton's Peeps stamp set. Wow!

Claire's FAVE

Andrea W. designs this sweet spring scene. The combination of striped and floral papers provide for a pretty spring backdrop for the butterfly-chasing Newton from the Newton's Flower Garden stamp and die set. Love the extra butterflies that she adds!

Debbie's FAVE

Erin pulls the table and chairs image from the Cozy Campers stamp set and showcases it on her pretty card. The flower in the vase coordinates wonderfully with the floral paper in the background. A simply elegant card!

Jennifer's FAVE

Amy creates a fun birthday card using the Cluck stamp set.  She thinks outside the box by coloring the chickens in unique pastel colors that work wonderfully!  Super fun and creative!

Sue's FAVE

Karen stamps the lilies from the Little Lilies stamp set to create her pretty backdrop.  The white sentiment on black really pops!  She sprinkles on some baubles to finish her stunning card.

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge! 

Here'a a refresher.

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 

Becky Noelle's card features a plethora of hydrangea flowers from the Lovely Blooms stamp set that she lovingly stamps, colors, and cuts. She layers her flowers atop her leaves and ties the stems with twine and adds a little note with a sentiment from the Little Lilies stamp set.  A true labor of love that is magnificent!

Debbie Owens uses cream, pink, and shades of black to create a pretty card showcasing the Dainty Daisies stamp. She places her flowers on a Swiss polka dot embossed pink layer die cut using the scallop-edged die from the Framework die set. She places her layers on a black gingham background using the Gingham stencil.  She heat embosses the sentiment in pale pink and adds a twine bow. A very sweet card!

Diane Morales brings us a bright, brilliant card!  Beginning with a royal blue card based die cut using the Framework die set, she heat embosses using the Blooming Botanicals stamp set. This beautiful setting adds a fabulous texture for her orange lilies from the Easter Lily stamp and die set. She stamps the sentiment from the Blooming Botanicals stamp set on a banner die cut using the Frames & Flags die set. A bright, refreshing card!

Crystal Komara's bright, whimsical card showcases a three playful mice from the Garden Mice stamp and die set on a slim card with a royal blue backdrop. Her blue flowers and mushroom are darling with the gingham in the oval windows. She grounds everything with some rolling grassy hills. Delightful!

Sue T.'s card is sunny all over!  Beginning with the sun rays created using the Sunscape stencil, Sue continues with the pretty sunflowers Sunflower Days stamp and die set. She adds the sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set on the banner from Frames & Flags die set.

Diane's FAVE

Jen uses amazing colors to create this fabulous card!  Her silver music score background (Music stencil) makes a wonderful setting for her blue jay from the Winter Birds stamp set. Adding the red paper with the white snowflakes compliments the sentiment perfectly!  A beautiful winter card!

Sue's FAVE

Paula's card will have you pulling out your flip flops!  The soft, pastel background is so lovely. She distresses her tag in blue and adds a sandy beach. Using the Flip-Flop Life stamp set, she places them in the sand!  

Becky's FAVE

Meghan K.  creates a perfect chicken coop card!  With the chicken pattern paper, Meghan adds a layer of chicken wire paper and a black gingham banner. For her tag, she creates a red barn door!  Fun!  She adds her little hens and roosters from the Cluck stamp and die set. The gingham ribbon makes for the perfect final touch!  Cuteness!

Crystal's FAVE

Beverly's card is so classy and elegant! She uses the Little Lilies stamp and die set and colors in light pastels. She adds her floral arrangement on a peach tag which really pops against the black patterned paper and black card base.  Gorgeous!

Debbie's FAVE

Marianne's eye-catching colors make this a birthday winner!  Using the Balloons stencil, she uses pinks and peaches for a scrumptious background. She adds black and white diagonal paper which complements so nicely.  She adds the kitty from the Newton's Birthday Balloons stamp and die set on her white tag.  The glossy accents and black-white twine are wonderful embellishments!
