Inky Paws Challenge #233-Week 1

  Welcome to our new Monthly 

Inky Paws Challenge!

For the month of October 

we have fabulous colors to play with!

Use Burnt OrangeOlive GreenSlate Gray, and Cream with your NND products. 
You have four weeks to get creative with these colors and your NND Products!

You have from Monday, October 7, 2024 to Friday, November 1, 2024 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!  The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.  Make sure you check the challenge rules page before you link up your project. 

Here's some inspiration.  

This color combination would make gorgeous Fall projects, but don't limit yourself.  How about using these colors for a Halloween-themed card or a masculine birthday card?  So many possibilities!  Let's see what our IPC DT came up with:

Deb's Halloween card features Trick-or-Treat Newton, Trick-or-Treat Puppy, Frames & Tags, Spooky Street, Haunted House, Land Border, and Spooky Stories by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #cardmakingideas, #cardchallenge, #halloweencards, #halloween, #catcards, #puppycards, #dogcards
Debbie Owens shows us how these beautiful colors can be used to make a Halloween card!  Her card is filled with Halloween products including the Spooky Stories stamp set, the Trick-or-Treat Newton stamp set, the Trick-or-Treat Puppy stamp set, the Spooky Street stamp set, and, lastly, the Haunted House die.  
Deb makes her spooky scene using the Land Border die set, the Frames & Tags die, and the Clouds stencil. A fun way to use the October colors!

Amy Tollner creates an amazing autumn card combining the challenge colors with the Argyle stencil set. She then cuts her background with the Fractured Card Layout die creating a unique background to showcase the pile of books from the Autumn Reads stamp and coordinating die set

Claire Lamb, too, uses the Autumn Reads stamp and coordinating die set for her card.  Her pile of books rests against a gorgeous green distressed backdrop.  For added autumn fun, Claire adds falling leaves to her layout!

Crystal's birthday card features Newton Loves Taco, A Cat's Life, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #cardmakingideas, #cardchallenge, #catcards, #birthdaycards, #tacocat
Crystal Minkler uses the October colors to create a darling birthday card!  She chooses papers from the A Cat's Life paper pad in burnt orange and another in slate gray to make her layers with the help of the Frames & Flags die set. Her star attraction is our very own Newton from the Newton Loves Taco stamp and coordinating die set. Such a fun way to use the October colors!

Danni's autumn card features Autumn Basics, Fractured Card Layout, and Leaf Splendor by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #cardmakingideas, #cardchallenge, #autumncards, #leafcards
Danni Bindel uses the Fractured Card Layout die with papers from the Autumn Basics paper pad to create an amazing layout for her colorful, autumn leaves from the Leaf Splendor stamp and coordinating die set.  What a stunning way to celebrate autumn!

Crystal Minkler is looking towards the holiday season with this festive card featuring a snowman mug from the Cup of Cocoa stamp set set upon the stitched circle die from the Circle Frames die set. Crystal selects 3 fun papers from the Meowy Christmas paper pad to create the festive background!  

Danni's spirits card features Ghostly Good Times, Circle Frames, Frames & Tags, and Halloween Time by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #newtonsnookdesigns, #cardmaking, #cardmakingideas, #cardchallenge, #halloweencards, #spookycards
Danni Bindel is in Halloween mood using papers from the Halloween Time paper pad. She uses the spookily-cute spirits from the Ghostly Good Times stamp and coordinating die set. For added fun, Danni uses the zig-zag frame die from the Frames & Tags die set to create the edging as well as the stitched circle die from the Circle Frames die set for the sentiment.

Debbie Owens  also uses the Halloween Time paper pad and the Ghostly Good Times stamp set, but creates a totally different look than her teammate Danni!  She pairs her little ghost with the haunted house from the Spooky Street stamp set atop a vellum panel using the Basic Frames die set. She adds a sentiment using the Spooky Sentiments Hot Foil Plates. How fun to mix and match NND products to produce fun cards!

Amy Tollner uses a birthday theme using the challenge sketch, and it's just precious!  She pulls her pastel papers from the Birthday Woofs paper pad and pairs them with the little puppy from the Puppy Playtime stamp and coordinating die set. His little hat is so cute!  Her sentiment is placed on a stitched circle using the Circle Frames. Cuteness overload!

Claire Lamb is showing off her amazing distressing skills with this monochromatic birthday card. To create this fab card, she uses the Bokeh Balloons stencil set with a sentiment from the Best Mom Oval stamp set a top stitched panels using the Basic Frames die set.  Always fun to see custom made backgrounds using stencils!

Inky Paws Challenge #208

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20 store credit to our Newton's Nook Design online shop! We will also highlight our favorites from each challenge the following Monday so all entries have a chance to be featured on this blog! 


You have TWO WEEKS to play along - Deadline to enter is Friday, October 13, 2023 at Midnight CST. The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.

Debbie Owens creates a scary distressed background on her slimline card featuring a black scallop-edged background (Slimline Frames & Portholes die set). She uses the Spooky Street stamp set to add some scary trees and tombstones. Enjoying their evening out are two vampire kitties from the Batty Newton and the Count Newton stamp sets. Don't you love their teal capes? So fun!

Amy Tollner showcases the witch image from the Witchy Newton stamp and coordinating die set. She places this darling witch on an oval card base (Oval Frames die set) which includes some spider webs from the Spiderweb Oval stamp set. She adds a duo of bats using dies from the Halloween Trio die set. She adds a sentiment from the Spooky Roundabout stamp set on a banner cut using the Banner Trio die set. A spook-tacular Halloween cared!


Spider Tonic and Witch's Brew by Claire features Halloween Apothecary, Jar Hot Foil Plate, A7 Frames & Dies, Batty Newton, and Spiderweb Oval by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #halloweencards, #cardmaking, #cardchallenge
Claire Lamb creates a pair of Halloween tags that are perfect for the occasion.  She uses the Jar Hot Foil plate and die set to create her tag shape. Then she adds some spooky elements inside her jars. Those spider webs are from the Spiderweb Oval stamp set. The bats are from the Batty Newton stamps.  Loving her jar labels?  She uses the A7 Frames & Banners die set and adds images from the newly released Halloween Apothecary stamp set. So spookily cute!

Danni Bindel's card is too cute to spook!  She pulls papers from the Halloween Time paper pad.  Don't you love the background paper with the Halloween scene already made for you?  Danni slips a striped paper behind it to add more color and fun. She also uses the Frames & Flags die set to get the scallop edging.  She adds the trio from the Halloween Trio stamp and coordinating die set who look like they are having a great time!  Darling!

Claire Lamb's sandy background created using inks and the Land Borders die set will have you yearning for a road trip of your own!  She uses two of the beach-bound vehicles from the Beach Bound stamp and coordinating die set.  A fabulous and creative way to use the current IPC sketch!



May your days be filled with beauty by Crystal features Loads of Blooms, Circle Frames, Sky Scene Builder, and Spring Blooms by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #springcards, #floralcards, #cardmaking
Crystal O. Minkler uses papers from the Spring Blooms paper pad for her background.  Riding through those beautiful daisies is one of the ladies from the Loads of Blooms stamp and coordinating die set. She places the little lady on a vellum, scallop-edged circle (Circle Frames die set). Don't you love how she adds the clouds and sun to her spring scene using the Sky Scene Builder die set?

Debbie Owens takes a break from spring and starts on her Halloween cards!  For her spookily cute card, she uses two of the images from the Franken-Newton stamp set.  She pulls additional scary elements
 from the Count Newton stamp set (Jack-o-lantern bucket, big tombstone), the Spiderweb Oval stamp set (spider), and the Spooky Street stamp set (haunted house and little tombstone).  She places all the elements on papers from the Halloween Meows paper pad and adds a sentiment from the Spooky Roundabout stamp set.  Spook-tacularly cute!


Thinking of ewe by Diane features Spring Blooms, Baa, Land Borders, and Speech Bubbles by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook,#springcards, #thinkingofyoucards, #cardmaking,#sheepcards
Diane Morales creates a mini slimline card measuring 3 1/2" x 6 1/4", and it's packed with spring cuteness! She uses papers from the Spring Blooms paper pad which pair wonderfully with the lambs from the Baa stamp and coordinating die set.  Behind those lambs is a little grass to nibble on which was created using the Land Borders die set.  Not sure how or where to add your sentiment?  Use Diane's idea of a speech bubble which was created using the Speech Bubbles die set.  A super fun, spring card!

I love how Melissa showcases that little, bitty spider hanging from his web!  So cute! To showcase him, she uses the Spiderweb Oval stamp set die cut using the Oval Frames die set. She then adds more webs pulling paper from the Halloween Woofs paper pad. She cuts her paper using the Framework die set. The sentiment pulls it all together for a wonderful Halloween card!

Melanie's super CAS card is packed full of cuteness!  She embosses her white card base with a very large, spooky spider web. She then adds the kitty in her boot from the Witchy Newton stamp and the coordinating die set. The muted colors with the pop of black on the hat and sentiment banner gives her card a nice spooky feel!

Amy Tollner creates a spooky evening sky in shades of purple complete with a full moon (Sky Scene Builder die set). Then she adds an old tree and owl from the Spooky Street stamp set.  She adds some tombstones (Spooky Street stamp set) on her black grass (Land Borders die set).  Enjoying this spooky occasion are critters from the Halloween Pile Up stamp and die set.  For her postage-edging, she uses the Framework die set.  Spook-tacularly done!

The Frames Squared die set was used to create this darling card created by Claire Lamb. Claire distresses a beautiful evening sky just right for our mysterious Count Newton from the Count Newton stamp and die set. She adds a rolling landscape in black using the Land Borders die set.  The added bats and tombstones complete this eerie scene!

Debbie Owens creates her own spooky scene with a full moon (Circle Frames die set) spotlighting Count Newton from the Batty Newton stamp set as he flies through the sky! She, too, uses the creepy tree from the  Spooky Street stamp set.  She then adds some colorful Jack-o-lanterns from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night stamp set.  Isn't Newton looking cute with his head poking out of the black pumpkin?  The sentiment was pulled from the Count Newton stamp set.


Have a spook-tacular Halloween by Diane features Halloween Pile Up, Spooky Street, and Clouds by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #halloweencards, #puppycards
Our gals are on a roll with spooky backgrounds!  Diane Morales adds spooky lavender clouds  (Clouds stencil) to her cemetery scene filled with headstones from the Spooky Street stamp set.  Bravely strolling through this scene is Newton and his pals from the Halloween Pile Up stamp and die set. No spooky scene can be complete without some added bats!  




Happy Haunting by Sue features Flying Bats, Bokeh, Batty Newton, and Spooky Roundabout by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #halloweencards, #catcards, #cardmaking
Sue T. fills her background with embossed spooky bats using the Flying Bats stencil. She adds a full moon complete with craters, which she makes using the Bokeh stencil.  She adds her Count Newton from the Batty Newton stamp and die set in front of her big moon.  She adds a sentiment from the hSpooky Roundabout stamp set.  Of course, she completes her card with spooky bats!
