Inky Paws Challenge #84

This biweekly challenge is a:
Theme Challenge


Create a project using Burlap or Twine.

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20 store credit to our Newton's Nook Design online shop! We will also highlight our favorites from each challenge the following Monday so all entries have a chance to be featured on this blog! 

You have TWO WEEKS to play along - Deadline to enter is Friday, November 9, 2018 at Midnight CST. The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.

Emily Lauritzen gets us ready for the winter holidays with this beautiful card. Using textured paste, Emily creates her background using the Snowfall stencil. She then adds her vertical layers of burlap and uses twine to create that fabulous pattern in which she places her die cut banner (Frame and Flags ) with the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Sentiment of the Season stamp set .

Harvest Blessings by Sue features Framework and Autumn Newton by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Sue T. creates this fabulous card using Kraft card stock. Using the Framework die, Sue wraps twine around the frame multiple times to add a nice textured element. She them colors those sweet kitties from the Autumn Newton stamp set. She paper pieces the bow from plaid and stamps the sentiment. So cute!

Truly Grateful by Becky features Autumn Leaves, Shades of Autumn, and Tree Rings by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Becky Noelle designs this gorgeous Thanksgiving card. She begins by creating her distressed background using fall colors and the Tree Rings stencil. Isn't it gorgeous?  She then uses the negative space from the Autumn Leaves die set and places burlap behind. Adhering the veins on the burlap, Becky then stamps her sentiment using the Truly Grateful sentiment form the Shades of Autumn stamp set. Simply stunning!

Debbie Owens designs this monochromatic autumn card by creating a plaid background and adding a twine bow. She then cuts the tag using the Fancy Edges Tag die set. She adds a strip of burlap and then layers distressed inked leaves using theAutumn Leaves die set and stamps the sentiment.  She colors the darling fox from Harvest Tails stamp set using Prismacolor pencils. Enamel dots finish the card.

Diane Morales gives us a circular card!  Using the littler stamps from  the Harvest Tales stamp set, she repeatedly stamps pumpkins and gourds for her background. She adds a strip of burlap before adding her sentiment banner using the Frame and Flags die set. For her main attraction, Diane wonderfully colors this sweet raccoon, again from the Harvest Tales set, and adds a few extra pumpkins for good measure!

Happy Birthday bag by Dandi features Winston's Birthday and Newton's Birthday Bash by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Irene creates this darling gift bag by repeatedly stamping the party and happy birthday sentiments from the Newton's Birthday Bash stamp set. She then adds her green background to the front of the bag and adds a white rectangle and a strip of plaid pattern paper. She then stamps and colors the bear and presents from the Winston's Birthday stamp (retiring--grab it while supplies last).  She adds sequins and polka-dotted tissue to finish off this creative interpretation of the challenge sketch!

Made for each other by April features Woodland Duos and Darling Hearts by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
April creates this clever scene following the challenge sketch. For the circle, she uses the Darling Hearts die set. She adds this delightful fox couple from the Woodland Duos stamp set. She adds stamps the sentiment and adds a bow to finish this adorable card!

Of all the flakes by Bobbi features Frozen Fellowship and Winter Woofs by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Bobbi creates this snowy wonderland combining the Frozen Fellowship and
Winter Woofs stamp sets. She creates her night time background using distress inks. She uses paint and a white gel pen to add her snowflakes. She colors her snowmen in nontraditional colors. She adds the Husky puppy and glitter ribbon for a creative way to interpret the sketch--wowza!

Becky's FAVE
Thinking of you by Karren features Peony Blooms by Newton's Nook Desgins; #newtonsnook
Karren shades the flowers from Peony Blooms stamp  and die set spectacularly. She adds pastel papers and overlays them with vellum. She die cuts a circle with scalloped edges to showcase the flowers. She embosses the sentiment in gold and adds sequins and twine to finish her card. Gorgeous!

Hoppy Halloween by Andrea features Hoppy Halloween by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Andrea W brings us this darling card that features her wonderfully colored bunny from the Hoppy Halloween stamp and die set. The candy-themed paper provides the perfect background with the candy and lollipop stamped images. The orange and black twine ties it altogether fabulously!

Inky Paws Challenge #83 Reminder

 Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge!

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 


Candy Corn counts as a vegetable, right? by Diane features Candy Corn by Newtons Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales creates this cheerful Halloween card by repeatedly stamping the candy corns from the Candy Corn stamp set. She stamps the sentiment (which is so fun) on a circle and attaches to the stripe that she creates using the Sky Borders die.


Merry and Bright by Emily features Beautiful Baubles, Sentiments of the Season, Framework, Frames & Flags, and Land Borders by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Emily Lauritzen gives us this Christmas beauty by water coloring the blue background which she cuts using the Framework die set. She attaches it to the silver glitter paper which she die cut from the Frames & Flags die set. Her  ornaments which she water colors spectacularly are from the Beautiful Baubles stamp set. She cuts her waving stripe using the Land Borders die set and uses a sentiment from the Sentiments of the Season stamp set.


Trick or Treat by Sue features Newton's Boo-tiful Night and Halloween Trio by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Sue T. brings us yet another striking Halloween card!  She uses a combination of fun pattern papers to create her background and stripe. She then incorporates a crescent-shaped moon as part of the sketch's circle.  With Newton hanging off his broom from Newton's Boo-tiful Night stamp set and the die cut sentiment from the Halloween Trio die set, this is such a delightful card!

Becky Noelle used The Snow Globe Scenes and Sentiments of the Season stamp sets and the Starfield Stencil. I masked off my sky area and inked it up with Distress Oxides before stenciling the stars with texture paste, I sprinkled some glitter on top of the texture paste before it dried to make it sparkly and my little scene inside the circle is a shaker!

All you knead is love by Debbie features Made from Scratch, Newton's Kitchen, Newton's Thanksgiving, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Debbie Owens whips up her card by using cooking/baking themed papers. She cuts the background using the Framework die set. She then selects an assortment of kitty images from the Made from ScratchNewton's Kitchen, and the Newton's Thanksgiving stamp sets to show the steps of making a pie--stir, knead, roll, and enjoy!  She adds a bit of twine for a finishing touch!

Diane Morales uses nontraditional colors to create this cute and delightful Halloween card!  She begins by creating her background and using the centerpiece from the Frames and Flags die set. She then dies her grass from the  Land Borders die set and stamps the sentiment. For her main attraction she colors this trip of critters from the Halloween Trio stamp and die set in teal, orange and lime green!  Her final touch is those spooky bats flying through the sky!  Spook-tacular!

The best wines are the ones we drink together with friends by Emily features Wine a Little, Tree Rings, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Emily Lauritzen creates this woodsy card by using the Tree Rings stencil and gold ink and cuts using Frames and Flags  die set. She then embosses in gold the sentiment from the Wine a Little stamp set. She stamps and colors the wine bottle and glass on kraft paper and colors. To finish she adds a pattern paper stripe and black ribbon & bow.  Fabulous!

Sue T. wows with this bright, striking card. She cuts her white polka dotted background using the Framework die. Using the sentiments from the Candy Corn stamp set she stamps a background on orange card stock. , She then stamps and colors the Candy Corn in a circular fashion. She uses the  Trick or Treat die from Halloween Trio die set for her sentiment.  Her card is so Halloweenish!

Every year I fall for autumn leaves by Becky features Pumpkin Patch, Tree Rings, and Fall-ing for You by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Becky Noelle combines stencil sets to create this gorgeous autumn card. She creates her main background by using the Pumpkin Patch stencil. She then uses the Tree Rings stencil which she stamps the sentiment from the Falling-for You stamp set. She adds a strip of ribbon for her stripe and adds a twine bow.  Wow, so pretty!

You're the Best by Debbie features Bubbly, Balloon Shaker, Cat Treats, Thankful Thoughts, Newton Loves Cake, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Debbie Owens creates this delightful birthday thank you card by creating the background using the Bubbly stencil, Distress Ink and texture paste and cuts it using the Framework die set. She adds a lavender squiggle stripe. She stamps the sentiment from the  Thankful Thoughts stamp set on yellow paper and die cuts using the Balloon Shaker die set. For the cake, she combines elements from the Cat Treats and Newton Loves Cake stamp sets.  Fun!

Happy Halloween by Bobbi features Cocktail Mixer and Halloween Trio by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Bobbi's bright, bold colors really makes her card stand out, but look a little closer!  Using the 
Cocktail Mixer stamp and die sets, Bobbi fabulously "spooks" up this set by making the olives into eyeballs, adding rolling eyes on the ice cubes, and transforming the garnish into candy corn and a spider!  Seriously creative!  She die cuts the cheer sentiment and embosses the Halloween sentiment from the Halloween Trio stamp set on black.  Striking!

Wishing you a purr-fect day by Donna features A Cozy Day by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Donna creatively uses the challenge colors using A Cozy Day In stamp set. Her choice of pattern papers work wonderfully together. We love how she adds the title, "Ghost Stories," to the book!  Such a creative way to "Halloween-ify" this stamp set!

Bharati's card features Falling Leaves and Beautiful Blossoms by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Bharati creates this striking bright background using the Falling Leaves stencil. Using Distress Inks, she stamps the leaves in vibrant colors and then goes over it again with Versamark transparent ink before embossing with clear powder. She then goes over with green embossed ink. She adds her black strip and adds flowers colored in alcohol inks from the Beautiful Blossoms stamp set. Beautiful!

Sunny Stamper's use of white space highlights her coloring of the green sloth in her coffee mug . She uses the darling Slothy Coffee stamp set. Simply fabulous design!

Lisa brews up a fabulous punny blend of Halloween and coffee. Her distressed background in the challenge colors looks fabulous with the silhouetted landscape elements. After playing all night, Newton from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night stamp set, looks like he is in desperate need of some java Joe!  By adding the coffee sentiment and coffee mug from the Newton Loves Coffee stamp set, Lisa's card is too cute!

Inky Paws Challenge #82 Reminder

This isn't a thank you card by Debbie features Newton's Naptime, Thankful Thoughts, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Debbie Owens uses pencils to color this contented kitty from the Newton's Nap Time stamp set. She adds this fun sentiment from Thankful Thoughts stamp set which she puts on a banner from the Frames & Flags die set and adds a green background. She again uses the Frames & Flags die set to cut the scalloped background from purple gingham. She adds an orange twine bow to pull everything together.

Happy meow-oween by Diane features Newton's Perfect Pumpkin by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales creates this playful tag that is just spook-tacular!  Using the Newton's Perfect Pumpkin stamp set, Diane repeatedly stamps the spider webs to make her background. She then colors the kitty witch and pumpkin in the challenge colors. To top off her tag, she creates that fun tassel!


Thankful for you by Emily features Thankful Thoughts, Shades of Autmun, and Frameworks by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Emily Lauritzen creates this stunning marbled background which she cuts using the Frameworks die set. She adheres it to purple card stock which showcases it beautifully.  Then she stamps the leaves in yellows using the Shades of Autumn stamp set.  Her thankful sentiment is from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set.

Sue T. water colors her strip in shades of purple and stamps that scary tree from the Spooky Street stamp set. She then colors this Halloween feline from the Newton's Perfect Pumpkin stamp set.  She adds the bats and moon to finish this fun Halloween card!

Using the Tags Times Two die, she hangs the sentiment from Creepy Cameos stamp off the broomstick. The added sequins, vellum clouds, and twine are purrfect touches!

Using colored pencils, she colors that darling candy-loving bunny from the Hoppy Halloween stamp set. She adds twine to finish her card off!

Diane Morales creates her bright background by using the challenge colors. She then uses Versamark to stamp the itty-bitty stamps--moon, bone, pumpkin, and stars-- from the Spooky Skeletons stamp set over her background. She then stamps two bats and a flamingo and uses the coordinating die set to cut them out.  She stamps the sentiment on a banner.  Such a scarily cute card!

Sue T. creates this fabulous black on black background by repeatedly die cutting the sentiment from the Halloween Trio die set and adhering them onto the black card stock. She then uses the Framework die  to create the frame. Sues then uses the Halloween Trio stamp set to color these cute critters and cuts them out using the coordinating die set.  Fabulous!

You're the pick of the patch by Becky features Newton's Boo-tiful Night by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Look at this darling pumpkin patch that Becky Noelle creates!  All those pumpkin images are from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night stamp set. She creates a wonderful purple sky with a yellow moon and stars. And did you notice that her pumpkins are all lit up?  She uses Chibi lights.  Wonderfully done!
