Inky Paws Challenge #210

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20 store credit to our Newton's Nook Design online shop! We will also highlight our favorites from each challenge the following Monday so all entries have a chance to be featured on this blog! 


You have TWO WEEKS to play along - Deadline to enter is Friday, November 10, 2023 at Midnight CST. The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.

Claire Lamb creates a darling card with a column of red delicious apples.  These are from the Autumn Apples stamp and coordinating die set. She splatters some white on her kraft base and then adds a square using the Frames Squared die set for her sentiment with a fringe of red scallops using the Sky Borders die set.  What a fabulous card with all the apples!


Christmas is on it's way by Crystal features Destination Christmas, Forest Scene Builder, Land Borders, Framework, and Christmas Time by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #cardchallenge, #christmascards, #holidaycards
Crystal Minkler is getting ready for the upcoming Christmas season.  She pulls papers from the Christmas Time paper pad and cuts many using dies from the Framework die set.  For her fun scene, she adds some snow using the Land Borders die set and a tree from the Forest Scene Builder die set. That cute red VW Bug is from the Destination Christmas stamp and coordinating die set.  Such a darling way to begin the season!

Danni Bindel is featuring a darling Halloween card using papers from the Halloween Meows paper pad that has been cut using the scallop-edged frame (Frames & Flags die set). She then uses the trio of pumpkin and kitty image from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night stamp and coordinating die set.  Don't you love how the paper and main image coordinate?  So cute!



Happiness is coffee and a good book by Debbie features Framework, Coffee House Stories, and Sips & Stories by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #coffeelovers, #coffeecards, #cardchallenge, #cardmaking
Debbie Owens uses the challenge for a fun coffee-themed card. Her card features papers from the Coffee House Stories paper pad. She uses the Framework die set to give the paw print paper the postage-edging.  She pulls the card together using the little lady from the Sips & Stories stamp set who is enjoying a relaxing day with her ferry feline friend!  Super fun!


Happy Howl-oween by Amy  features Happy Howl-oween, Halloween Meows, Halloween Woofs, and Circle Frames by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #halloweencards, #cardmaking, #cardchallenge
Amy Tollner features a super bright Halloween card using papers from the Halloween Meows and Halloween Woofs paper pads. She then adds those cute duo of puppies from the Happy Howl-oween stamp and coordinating die set. She adds her sentiment on a circle using the Circle Frames die set. Halloween cuteness!

Amy Tollner showcases the Happy Howl-oween stamp and die set in this bright, fun card!  For her vertical element, she white heat embosses the Spooky Roundabout stamp set on a black card base. She creates a a starry backdrop on a rounded-square using the Frames Squared die set complete with black grass (Hills & Grass stencil) and crescent moon (Brooms & Boos stamp and die set). She places this atop a purple layer which makes the colors just pop! Those puppies are ready for a night of trick-or-treating!  Super cute, Amy!

Claire Lamb showcases one of the beautiful birds from the Winter Birds stamp and coordinating die set. Her vertical element is a trio of trees die cut using the Forest Scene Builder die set. She then uses the leaf dies from this same set and the stitched leaf die from the Fall Friends die set to create layers of leaves in bold, autumn colors for her sweet bird to sit among.  Claire's unique take on the sketch and CAS style makes for a stunning fall card!

Debbie Owens showcases Newton playing in a leaf pile from the Autumn Newton stamp set. Set behind him is the challenge's vertical strip with falling leaves stamped using the Fall Roundabout stamp set. Also used were the Slimline Frames & Windows die set (square panel) and the Circle Frames die set on which the sentiment was stamped.  A fun, playful card!

Diane Morales showcases the Trick or Treat Kittens stamp and die set for another spook-tacularly cute Halloween card!  Using one stencil from the Argyle stencil set in bright orange and yellows provides a playful backdrop on which she adds the black open frame (Frameworks die set). Diane uses the
Circle Frames die set for her sentiment and the Slimline Frames & Windows die set for her square on which she places the kitten.  So cute!



Your fang-tastic by Sue features Count Newton, Flying Bats, and  Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #halloweencards, #catcards
Sue T. treats us with another fun Halloween card. Her card features the spooky, but totally adorable, Newton from the Count Newton stamp and die set. Sue uses the Flying Bats stencil on a rounded-edge rectangle using the Frames & Flags die set. Those bats look wonderful with the horizontal striped paper behind it.  She surrounds her Count Newton with tombstones for an added touch of spookiness!  Eeek!

Inky Paws Challenge #134 Winners

Betty T. uses leftover glitter papers to created this darling Halloween card! In the background, she adds a shimmery background using the Pumpkin Patch stencil. Atop the glittery paper, she adds the Halloween puppies from the Happy Howl-oween stamp and die set. At the top she also adds the owl from the Boo Hoo stamp set.  Pulling a sentiment from the Batty Newton stamp set, she embosses and adds it to her card!  A super fun way to wish a loved one Happy Halloween!

Embrace your inner kitten by Claire L. features Newton Unwinds and Meow by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #cardmaking
Claire L. creates an amazing CAS card by partially distressing the background using the Meow stencil in shades of orange to yellow. She wonderfully colors the black kitten a top of his big purple ball of yarn from the Newton Unwinds stamp and die set. Her sentiment is embossed in white on a black banner that really pulls the card together wonderfully!  Sweet!

Have a be-witching good time by Amy T. features Clouds, Spooky Street, Witchy Newton, Halloween Trio, and Land Borders by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #halloween
Amy T.'s spooky background uses the Clouds stencil she stamps the haunted house and gravestones from the Spooky Street stamp set to add to her spooky scene.  From black card stock she adds the landscaped die cutting hills and grass using the Land Borders die set.  Front and center is the kitty in her fashionable boot from the Witchy Newton stamp and die set. Her final touch of bats die cut using the bat from Halloween Trio die set.

Happy Halloween by Priscilla features Newton's Costume Party, Flying Bats, and Slimline Frames & Windows by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnok, #cardmaking, #halloween
Priscilla's use of the Flying Bats stencil to create a spook-tacular background for her trio of kittens from the Newton's Costume Party stamp and die set. Aren't they darling in their fun costumes?  She places everything atop a purple scalloped frame die cut using the  Slimline Frames & Windows die set.  A wonderful use of the challenge colors!

Cat's don't lie around lazily, they beautify the room by Papierelle features Newton's Naptime by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #cardmaking
Papierelle creates a most amazing window scene!  Her bricked wall and vellum window is gorgeously colored.  Look closely at you'll see the outline of a sleeping kitty.  Then open the card up and you'll see our sweet Newton on a pile of quilts and blankets from the Newton's Naptime stamp set. What a fabulously designed card to showcase a cat's favorite pastime!  A nap!

Happy Birthday by Farhana features Birthday Roundabout by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #cardmaking
Farhana took the Halloween-like colors of the challenge in a different direction. She created a bold birthday card using the Birthday Roundabout stamp set. She embossed the image in white and distressed the rectangular strips in orange, purple, and yellow. She places them strategically on a black card based. The birthday sentiment is embossed in white and looks striking on the black base!

Inky Paws Challenge #134 Reminder

Happy howl-oween by Sue T. features Fancy Edges, Spiderweb, and Happy Howl-oween by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Sue T. creates black on black layers to showcase her spookily-cute tag.  Her second black layer has the postage-edging that adds a nice texture and was created using the large frame die from the Framework die set. Sue distresses in orange her tag which was die cute using  Fancy Edges Tag die set.  She goes back and uses the Spiderweb stencil to add a black cobweb.  There's no spider on this web! Instead, Sue adds the darling duo from the Happy Howl-oween stamp and die set. Aren't they darling in their cute costumes?  




You're the pick of the patch by Becky features Newton's Boo-tiful Night, Land Borders, Fence, and Forest Scene Builder by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Becky Noelle's midnight scene with the dark purple sky and black silhouettes of trees and fence from the Forest Scene Builder and the Fence die sets make for an eerie backdrop.  She adds black hills using the Land Borders die set for her black kitties to romp. Those black kitties are from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night stamp and die set. A Halloween scene filled with spooks and sweetness!




Boo by Crystal features Newton's Boo-tiful Night and Slimline Frames & Windows; #newtonsnook
Crystal Komara creates a vibrant background in orange and purple with lots of speckles. She uses the Slimline Frames & Windows die set to make a black window frame which she fills with some overly large letters that spell BOO!  She pulls out two of the images from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night stamp and die set and colors her pumpkins orange and purple.  The addition of the 3D bats is a spook-tacular touch to this fabulous card!



Happy haunting by Debbie features Spooky Roundabout, Halloween Trio, Circle Frames, Frames & Flags, Hoppy Halloween, Candy Corn, and Spiderweb by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Debbie Owens creates layers of Halloween fun!  Starting with the purple scallop-edged background using the Frames & Flags die set, she embosses using the Spiderweb stencil and embossing paste and distress ink.  She adds the scallop-edged circle die cut using the largest die from the Circle Frames die set and distresses the edge in purple. She features the Spooky Roundabout stamp set on it and colors the images in orange, yellow, and black.  She adds a black banner (Frames & Flags die set) and embosses the sentiment in white.  She stamps and colors the trio of trick-or-treaters from the Halloween Trio stamp set.  She pulls the candy images from the Candy Corn and the Halloween stamp sets and scatters them around her sweet critters.  A fun way to combine products for a layered Halloween card!
 

Trick-or-treat by Diane features Slimline Frames & Portholes, Halloween Trio, Land Borders, and Ghost by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales takes a simplicity approach to the challenge creating this absolutely darling Halloween card! Using the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set, she creates the black, scallop-edged card base. She creates a spooky background using the Ghosts stencil and gradients the challenge colors. She adds a black hill using the Land Borders die set and adds the Trick-or-Treat sentiment using the die from the Halloween Trio die set.  She die cuts several bat images using the same set and scatters the bats among the ghosts!  Spook-tacular!

Sue T. creates this fun Halloween card!  She begins with a black card base. She then uses the Framework die set to die cut her black and white polka dotted layer in which she pops up using dimensional tape. She adds a black stripe and a banner using Halloween pattern paper. For her tag, she  uses the Fancy Edges Tag die set and pattern paper. For her focal point she colors this duo of puppies from the Happy Howl-oween stamp and die set. She stamps the sentiment and die cuts using the Speech Bubbles die set.  A wonderful way to celebrate Halloween!



Every year I fall for autumn leaves by Becky features Pumpkin Patch, Fall-ing for You, and Fancy Edges Tag by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Becky Noelle designs this incredible green background by using the Pumpkin Patch stencil. Her pumpkins are beautiful! She splatters some white accents to add more interest. She adds more texture to her card by adding two different twine and ribbon. She uses the Fancy Edges Tag die set to create her tag. She stamps the sentiment from the Fall-ing for You stamp set on the tag and adds a twine bow for her final touch. Wow!



Big Wishes by Bobbi features Holding Happiness by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Bobbi Lemanski brings us this fantastic feminine birthday card in pretty shades of pink. She creates her background by splattering watercolor in pinks, yellows, and grays. She adds layers of scalloped-edge stripes in coordinating colors. She creates a light gray tag and adds the sentiment and flowers using the Holding Happiness stamp and die set. For main attraction, she stamps and colors the girl with her overly big present from the Holding Happiness stamp and die set. A bit of ribbon and a few sequins completes this festive card.

Trick of Treat by Debbie features Flamingo Flock, Spooky Skeletons, Fancy Edges Tag, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Debbie Owens combines orange and black with a flock of flamingos for a fun, festive Halloween card. She begins by adding an orange scalloped-edged layer from the Frames & Flags die set and places it atop a black card base. She then white embosses the flamingos from the Flamingo Flock stamp set on black. She fussy cuts them and adheres to the orange layer. She adds an orange stripe and black banner using the Frames & Flags die set. She then die cuts the tag using the Fancy Edges Tag die set. She adds the flamingo from the Spooky Skeletons stamp set and a scattering of sequins.

Diane Morales creates a stunning purple background using the Argyle Stencil Set with the glittery stitches. She adds a black strip with a lime green banner using the Frame & Flags die set. For her tag she stamps little spider webs in two corners. She adds her little sweet kitten with her witch's hat from the Newton's Perfect Pumpkin stamp set. She finishes by stamping the sentiment and popping it up with foam tape.

Diane Morales creates this playful Halloween card using the Pick-a-Pumpkin die set and creating an ivory and orange Jack-o-lantern.  She adds moss green leaves using the Flower Trio Die Set.  For her background, she selects a bold pattern paper with a brown layer that she die cut using the Sky Borders die set.  She selects a sentiment from the Fall Fringe stamp set and embosses it in white.  Delightful!

Sue T. creates a lovely card using the image from the Dainty Daisies stamp and die set.  The daisies look wonderful in ivory and orange. She pairs her flowers with a couple of pattern papers that coordinate  fabulously. She adds her banner with the sentiment stamped on it and lightly distresses the edges.  Again, lovely!

Happy pumpkin spice season by Becky features Pumpkin Latte and Tree Rings by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Becky Noelle's card is timed perfectly to kickoff the pumpkin spice latte season! She begins by using the Tree Rings stencil to create a textured background. She stamps the sentiment using the Pumpkin Latte stamp. She adds a layer of brown, plaid paper and wraps twine around it and ties with a bow.  She then adds the two coffee-laden gals from the Pumpkin Latte stamp and die set. She colors these gals wonderfully!





Thankful by Bobbi features Beautiful Leaves, Thankful Thoughts, and Dainty Daisies by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Bobbi Lemanski cuts several ivory rectangles and distresses them before adhering to the kraft card stock. She then cuts several leaves using the Beautiful Leaves die set. She then colors the leaves in the challenge colors. She also stamps the flowers from Dainty Daisies stamp and die set. After coloring them, she layers the flowers and leaves and adds them to her background She stamps the sentiment form the Thankful Thoughts stamp set and adds a splattering of sequins to create an amazing autumn card!

Debbie Owens creates a Halloween card in nontraditional colors. Using the Framework die set, she cuts her background from a vintage library-card pattern paper. She adds a green stripe and cuts the label from the Framework die set in orange. She stamps the sentiment from the Happy Howl-oween stamp on the label and adds a twine bow. For her main attraction, she colors the canine duo from the Happy Howl-oween stamp set in the challenge colors.  Super cute!
