Inky Paws Challenge #133

This biweekly challenge is a:
Theme Challenge




Create a project using the theme:  Autumn

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20 store credit to our Newton's Nook Design online shop! We will also highlight our favorites from each challenge the following Monday so all entries have a chance to be featured on this blog! 


You have TWO WEEKS to play along - Deadline to enter is Friday, October 9, 2020 at Midnight CST. The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.

With the striped backdrop cut withe scallop-edged die from the Frame & Flags die set, Diane Morales creates a serene scene with her yellow truck from the Farming Fun stamp and die set taking center stage on a circle frame using the Circle Frames die set. She fills the bed of the truck with a giant pumpkin from the Harvest Tails stamp and die set. She uses the Land Borders die set to create a small green hill. She adds extra pumpkins and leaves fluttering around her card using the smaller elements from the Paw-tumn Newton stamp and coordinating die set. She stamps the "Welcome Autumn" sentiment from the Fall Roundabout stamp set on the rounded banner die in the Banner Trio die set. A fun way to bring in the new season!



Fall blessings by Sue T. features Circle Frames and Fall Roundabout by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Sue T. creates a circle card on Kraft card stock using the Circle Frames die set. She stamps the fall circular image from the Fall Roundabout stamp set on four different colored papers. She cuts them in strips and reassembles them in a circle which makes for a fabulous backdrop.  She cuts a dark brown strip with scallop-edges and heat embosses the "Fall Blessings" sentiment. She uses dimensional tape to create dimension for a fabulous fall card!



Every year by Becky features Fancy Edges Tag, Fall-ing for You, and Falling Leaves by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Becky Noelle is back with her spectacular use of stencils!  For this card, she uses the Falling Leaves stencil on a wood veneer paper.  After she uses many colored distress inks for her leaves, she hand draws the veins on each leaf!  Gorgeous!  She then uses the Fancy Edges Tag die set to create a vellum tag with the poem from the Fall-ing for You stamp set embossed in white. She adds stitching to the bottom of her tag and jute for her bow at the top.  Don't you just love the mix of textures and rich colors?!



Take delight in the small things by Crystal features Hummingbird and Slimline Frames & Windows by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Crystal Komara uses gold foil paper die cute from the Slimline Frames & Windows die set to create her trio of windows. In the background, she uses goldenrod yellow gingham for a country feel. She uses Copic markers to color the sweet bird from the Hummingbird stamp and die set and stamps multiple stems of flowers and arranges them up her vertical card. A beautiful autumn card with a touch of golden elegance!




Happy Paw-tumn features Houndstooth, Paw-tumn Newton, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Debbie Owens begins her card with a steel-gray base.  Using the Houndstooth Stencil, she distresses uses a light brown which coordinates with the center of her flowers. She die cuts this layer using the postage-edge die out of the Framework die set. She adds her autumn image from the Paw-tumn Newton stamp set. She adds olive green ribbon and stamps the sentiment on a die-cut banner from the Banner Trio die set.  A sweet country fall card!

Oh Snap! by Meghan features Ginger Snap and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
All of Meghan's elements add up to a darling holiday card.  She uses the postage-edged die from the Framework die set in red and white polka dots. She adds a shaker element filled with cute candy elements. She adds a brown frame from same die set. She adds the two gingerbread men from the Ginger Snap stamp set. She then adds two banners with the "Oh Snap!" sentiment.  Such cuteness!



Diane's FAVE
Happy Halloween by Bhavya features Newton's Boo-tiful Night by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Bhavya distresses her background in beautiful shades of blues which sets the scene for her kitty in his pumpkin patch. This cute tabby is from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night stamp and die set. She scatters stars throughout and her skinny banners with "Happy Halloween" stamped on one of them. A vibrant Halloween card!


Sue's FAVE
Hey there, Pumpkin by Claire features Newton's Boo-tiful Night and Clouds by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Claire L. uses the Clouds stencil to create a spooky, yet pretty, sky setting. Flying through these clouds is a black kitty witch from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night stamp and die set.  She adds her banners with the sentiment embossed in white on the black one. A spook-tacular card!



Becky's FAVE
Special delivery by Anushree features Gingham and Llama Delivery by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Anushree uses an orange and pink palette to celebrate the upcoming holidays. Using the 
Gingham stencil, she designs the background. She then adds the gift-laden llama from the  Llama Delivery stamp and die set and colors him wonderfully. She sets the llama on a delicate snowflake. Then she adds her banners. A fun, festive way to use nontraditional colors. 



Crystal's FAVE
Mother by Amy T. features Lovely Blooms and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Amy T. distresses a brilliant blue background splattered with white paint. She die cuts it using the scallop-edged frame from the Frames & Flags stamp set. She then uses the jar and flowers from the Lovely Blooms and die set. Her flowers are so prettily colored. She finishes with banners cut from the Frames & Flags stamp set and adds the sentiment. Gorgeous!

Inky Paws Challenge #132 Reminder

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 

Debbie's card features Knight Owl, Frames & Flags,  Cascading Stars, Love Owl-ways, and Forest Scene Builder by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 A bit of old-fashion chivalry can be seen in Debbie Owens' fun card. Set amid a starry night made using the Cascading Stars stencil,  the chivalrous owl from Knight Owl stamp set saves a damsel in distress from Love Owl-ways stamp set. Both birds are on branches die cut using the 
Forest Scene Builder die set. The white scallop-edged frame was die cut using dies from Frames and Flags die set. 



Happy Halloween by Diane features Batty Newton, Clouds, Circle Frames, and Banner Trio by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales has a special talent of turning sketches into circular cards!  Using the Circle Frames die set, she creates her card base and layers. She creates the royal blue sky using the Clouds stencil and adds a couple of black fluttering bats among them. Then she adds the vampire kitty from the Batty Newton stamp and die set. His red wings contrast wonderfully against the sky.  Using the sticker banner from the Banner Trio die set, she stamps the sentiment.  A creative way to use the sketch!



Trick or Treat by Sue T. features Framework, Ghost and Halloween Trio by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Sue T.'s Halloween card is filled with spooky ghosts!  She turns the sketch on its side and uses the  Framework die set to cut her dark gray layer. Using the Ghost stencil, she distresses the ghost images in white. She uses the Trick-or-Treat die from the Halloween Trio die set and cuts the sentiment twice--one in orange and one in black. She adheres them to create a shadow effect.  For her banners, she uses different Washi tapes in Halloween colors. Spook-tacular!



Happiness is coffee and a good book by Becky features Sips & Stories, Houndstooth, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Becky Noelle creates a cozy scene that reminds me of my college days!  On her pretty background made using the Houndstooth stencil, she adds the two ladies from the Sips and Stories stamp set busily studying from stacks of books and enjoying some coffee! Her scene was die cut using the rounded-corner rectangle die from the Frames and Flags die set.  That little fur ball snuggled in for a nap is a purr-fect touch to this scene!



Wishing you a choo choo merry Christmas by Crystal features All Aboard for Christmas, Land Borders, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Crystal Komara's Christmas train fun might inspire you to start decorating for Christmas!  She uses the All Aboard for Christmas stamp and die set and colors the holiday images in red, white, and pale blues. She sets them atop a white background with snowy white hills die cut using the Land Borders die set. Her red scallop-edged frame die cut fro the Framework die set, provides a bright foundation to pull everything together.

Looks like this kitty is scheming to do some international travels!  Debbie Owens stamps iconic images on her Kraft card base using Newton Dreams of Italy, Newton Dreams of Paris, Newton Dreams of New York, and Newton Dreams of London stamp sets. She adds a red panel die cut using the rounded-corner rectangle from the Frames & Flags die set. Her stow-away kitty from the Stowaway Newton stamp set looks quite comfortable in the suitcase. The added tickets from pattern paper mimic the sketch banners and add a fun travel touch to this darling card!



Happy Paw-tumn by Diane features Frames & Flags and Paw-tumn Newton by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales combines sunflowers, gingham, and a kitty to make this darling card! Set atop the gingham  background, she adds an orange and a golden rod yellow banner die cut using the Frames & Flags die set. The color of her banners coordinate perfectly with the sunflower and pumpkin from the Paw-tumn Newton stamp set. She adds a splash of contrast by coloring the birdie and collar in pale blue. She uses the Paw-tumn Newton coordinating die set to cut it out.  


Give thanks by Sue T. features Pumpkin Patch and Fall Roundabout by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Sue T.'s card is a wonderful example of the power of a stencil!  She uses distress inks in autumn colors and the Pumpkin Patch  stencil to create a striking background. She stamps a sentiment from Fall Roundabout in black.  She adds banners in a plaid and polka dots that coordinate wonderfully with the distressed panel. 



Happy pumpkin spice season by Becky features Pumpkin Latte, Houndstooth, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Becky Noelle creates a white on white autumn card that is just so pretty. With her textured white card base using the Houndstooth stencil, she adds a white panel die cut using the Frames & Flags die set. She stamps the coffee-lovin' ladies from the Pumpkin Latte stamp set and colors them in lovely autumn colors. She adds ribbon for her two banners. Very elegant for the upcoming pumpkin spice season!

Dandi93 takes us to the mountains for some fresh chilly fun!  She adds some purple behind her hills then adds her snowboarding moose from the Moose Mountain stamp and die set. Don't you love his teal snowsuit with the orange accents.  A very fun, crisp card!

Happy Haunting by Rachel features Spooky Roundabout by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Rachel creates a shaker card which features the Spooky Roundabout stamp set in all three of her windows. Her fun coloring and teal banner look fabulous on the purple card stock.  Love how the ghosts look like they are floating about in the windows!

Claire L. showcases Newton from Batty Newton stamp and coordinating die set flying in front of a bright full moon!  Her distressed midnight background looks fabulous with the shimmering stars and scary embossed bats!

Amy T. is back with another glittery Halloween card!  Beginning with a purple glitter card base, she adds a purple-teal distressed panel die cut using the postage-edged frame die from the Framework die set. She uses glow-in-the-night glitter paste with the Ghost stencil to make those shimmery spooks. Atop a purple glimmer stripe, she adds a teal circle using a die from the Circle Frames die set.  Her orange tabby poking out of that striking boot is from the Witchy Newton stamp and die set.  Using the bat die from the Halloween Trio die set, she adds 3-D bats!

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 

Hope your fall is extra mice by Crystal features Autumn Mice, Slimline Frames & Portholes, and Land Borders by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Crystal Komara uses the challenge colors for an autumn card filled with cuteness!  Using the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set, she adds her scallop-edged layer. She uses the Land Borders die set to create her purple hilly land.  The Autumn Mice stamp and coordinating die set is used to add all the mice and autumn elements!  Don't you just love the teal and purple pumpkins and leaves!  


You make me smile by Debbie features Dog Days of Summer, Waves & Splashes, Waves, Frames & Flags, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Debbie Owens uses the scallop-edged dies from the Frames & Flags and the Framework die sets to create the layers of her card. She then creates a large puddle of water and adds  texture using the Waves stencil. Her water-lovin' canine from the Dog Days of Summer stamp set is definitely make some summer fun. Deb adds some extra splashes using the Waves & Splashes stencil. A fun way to celebrate the last weeks of summer!


Knight-owl by Diane features Knight Owl, Pug-kin, Houndstooth, Fancy Edges Tag, and Frames Squared by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales creates two darling tags using products from the August Release. On teal and purple card stock, she uses the Houndstooth stencil to create the background.  She makes her tags using the Fancy Edges Tag die set. She stamps the owl from the Knight Owl stamp and cuts him out using the coordinating die set and the pug from the Pug-kin stamp and coordinating die set. She adheres them on the decorative square from Frames Squared die set. 


Have a be-witch-ing good time by Sue T. features Witchy Newton and Flying Batty by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Sue T. uses the challenge colors to create a haunting cute card!  Using the Flying Bat stencil, she lightly distresses some purple bats for her background. She adds an orange banner with the sentiment stamped on it.  She then adds the feline from the Witchy Newton stamp and die set. Super cute!


Celebrate today by Becky features Frames & Flags, Happy Little Thoughts, Tropical Leaves, and Fancy Edges Tag by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Becky Noelle's card pops with the bold orange leaves embossed using the Tropical Leaves stencil. She partially die cuts it using the scallop-edged die from the Frames & Flags die set. She adheres it to a teal card base. She then cuts a tag from the same teal using the Fancy Edges Tag die set and adds a vellum layer. She adds a floral wreath from the Happy Little Thoughts stamp set and carefully fussy cuts it out. She adds purple twine and bow as well as heat embosses the sentiment on her tag.
