Inky Paws Challenge #237 Week 1

 

 Welcome to Inky Paws'  

February Challenge!

For the month of February 

we have a fabulous sketch to play with!

You have four weeks to get creative with this fun, layered sketch and your NND Products!

You have from Monday, February 3, 2025 to Friday, February 28, 2025 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!  The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.  Make sure you check the challenge rules page before you link up your project. 

Here's some inspiration.  

This sketch has so many fun layers just perfect for using stencils or patterened paper.  Plus it can be used for any occasion!  What are you in the mood to create--coffee-themed cards or maybe a romantic Valentine's card?  Stuck?  Let's check out the IPC team for some ideas:

Claire Lamb creates this coffee-themed Valentine uses papers from the Coffee Shop paper pad with the coffee mug image and sentiment from the Love Cafe stamp and coordinating die set. She places her mugs on a fancy square using the Frames Squared die set. All the brown with a touch of pink and red looks amazing!

Crystal Minkler is getting an early start on her St. Patrick's Day cards, and this one is filled with green!  She uses papers different patterned green papers from the Bright Basics paper pad.  She then creates a vellum oval using the Oval Frames die set. She places the puppy from the Lucky Dog stamp and coordinating die set atop the oval.  Doesn't this little fellow look amazing in his top hat?  Crystal also uses dies form the Frames & Flags die set to create her banners.  Wonderfully done!

Danni Bindel goes all yellow with this darling baby card!  She uses different pattern yellow papers from the Pastel Basics paper pad to create her layers. She also uses the Frames & Flags die set to create her scallop edging and little banner.  In the middle of all the yellow is a little onsie with a little ducky on it!  So sweet!  This little onsie is from the Loveable Laundry stamp set.  Cuteness overload!

Debbie Owens is welcoming a new fur baby to one's family!  Her card is filled with different patterns starting with the card base which is showing the Meow stencil in orange. She continues by using different pattern paper from the A Cat's Life paper pad. She uses the Basic Frames die set and Banner Trio die set to create a couple of those  layers.  She then showcases the little gray fur baby along with some kitty toys from the Welcome New Cat stamp set. Anyone else ready to go adopt a kitten?

Amy Tollner's bright, festive card is celebrating someone's birthday! She pulls colorful papers from the Birthday Party paper pad that work beautifully with her royal blue card base. She uses the Frames & Flags die set to create her glittery banner. She features an orange tabby enjoying his multi-tiered cake. This cute fellow is from the Newton Loves Cake and coordinating die set.

Becky's FAVE

Amy T. designs a long, skinny card that is filled with yummy treats!  She uses the Confetti stencil to create the background in shades of pink, lavender, and blue.  She stamps sentiments in the three windows and adds yummy treats from the Summer Scoops stamp and die set.  On the banner from the
Frames & Flags die set, she stamps the fun sentiment. Love all the sparkly goodness!


Crystal's FAVE

Becca's die cut paw prints with the challenge colors peeking through are just the cutest. Pair them with the napping kitty from the Newton's Day Dream stamp set, you have a purr-fectly balanced card! 

Debbie's FAVE

 Dandi93's card is filled with baby sweetness! She puts a trio of pastel onesies from the Loveable Laundry stamp and die set on little plastic hangers that actually swing on the hooks!  A fabulous way to congratulate new parents!

Diane's FAVE

Maria creates an amazing background in a aquamarine color. She places her darling purr-maid from the Purr-maid Newton stamp set in the center oval. She adds a few gems for her final touches! A marvelous and creative way to use the challenge colors!


Sue's FAVE

KT Fit Kitty uses the Beautiful Wings and Newton's Day Dream stamp sets to create "wallpaper" for her bathroom walls!  She uses the toilet paper playing kitty from the Naughty Newton stamp and die set and adds a speech bubble from the Speech Bubbles die set. Her sentiment sums up the craziness of today's world!

Debbie Owens creates a pastel background using acrylic paints. She then water colors Newton and his bouquet of balloons from the Newton's Birthday Balloons stamp set. She applies Glossy Accents to the kitty balloon. She heat embosses the sentiment on vellum. She then adheres everything on a striped background.  Such a festive way to celebrate a birthday!

Diane Morales creates this fabulous background by heat embossing the cocktails from the Cocktail Mixer stamp set and then adding Distress ink. She adheres a vellum rectangle and washi tape to mimic the sketch. Finally she stamps and colors the cocktails and dies cuts them with the coordinating Cocktail Mixer dies.  Such a colorful, summery card!

Emily Lauritzen creates this darling card using a clear card base!  She expertly colors the trio of onesies from the Loveable Laundry stamp set in reds and yellows. She die cuts the yellow background using the Frames & Flags die set.   She combines all of this with an ombre banner and gray and white striped paper to create this delightful card. 

 Sue T. has Winston from the Winston's Lake House  totally relaxing and enjoying summer.  For this summer scene she embosses a cloudy background then creates the sun and rays by using the Sunscape stencil.  She then pulls the sentiment from the Cocktail Mixer stamp set.  Such a fun way to mix and match NND products!

Becky Noelle creates this spectacular background by stenciling the leaves  from the Tropical Leaves stencil with texture paste and then masking each leaf to do the ink blending with Distress Oxide ink. She then stamps and colors this darling feline and sentiment from the Aloha Newton stamp set. She then adds burlap and twine to finish this adorable card!

Candice creates a soft, romantic background then adds a jeweled rainbow. She uses Once Upon a Princess stamp set and embosses the sentiment on the stitched banner. She finishes the card with a white stitched frame. Just so pretty!

Sue creates this fun, festive card using Newton's Christmas Cuddles stamp set. We love the unique card design and how she fussy cut Newton poking his head out of the box. The added strip of striped paper pulls everything together!  The sentiment is from Newton's Birthday Bash stamp set. 

Emily's FAVE

Irene created this simple, but totally adorable baby card using Loveable Laundry stamp set and Stitched Onesie die set. We love how she coordinated the lion onesie and the large "Roar" sentiment. So fun!

Zsofia's FAVE

We love how Laura creates this striking smooshed background using the challenge colors. Her softly colored toucans from the  Toucan Party stamp and die set and placed them atop of the background. 

Andrea's FAVE

Rijacki's magical card has Newton dreaming about magic!  Rijacki combines Newton's Book Club, Newton Loves Cake (sentiment inside), and a retired NND stamp set, Magical Dreams, to create this fun card. The background paper works wonderfully to pull everything together!

We love her simple design and cute pastel colors that celebrate the new arrival for these snow parents!  She even drew in a little snow baby!  So clever!

Elizabeth creates this delightful spring scene using the newly released Bitty Bunnies stamp set.  We love her soft, pastel colors and how those sweet bunnies frame the baby cutout!

Sue T. 's sweet card is a wonderful example of how stamps can be used for many different occasions.  Sue creates a darling baby card using Newton's Easter Basket stamp set and Sentiments of the Season stamp set.  She created her grass using the Waves stencil as well as the Frames & Flags die set.

Sharon creatively uses Winston's airplane from  Winston Takes Flight stamp set to celebrate the arrival of a new baby boy!  Her glossy plane and pastel colors are a perfect mix for this big occasion!

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 

Emily Lauritzen delights with these proud parents from Newton's Sweetheart stamp set. The diagonal stripes against the stenciled pawprints Tumbling Hearts working fabulously together. To finish it off are those little black pawprints from the Furr-ever Friends stamp set.

Zsofia Molnar designs these darlings cards with a combination of Loveable Laundry stamp set and Stitched Onesie die set with the cutest baby paper!  I love the soft baby boy colors with the stitched frame!  Cute!

Andrea Shell creates this sweet baby card using Deer Friend stamp set. I love how she frames the deer with the scallop edging. Then there is all the pink!  Seriously...delightful!

Debbie Owens uses Wild Child stamp set and Frames & Flags die set to create this sweet baby card. Those soft pastel colors and the bow provide the perfect touches to spotlight the darling giraffes!  

Diane Morales' tag makes for a special touch for a baby shower gift. I love how she uses  the Spring Showers stamp set with the little chick from  the Hello Spring stamp set. Love her puddle of water and the twine bow!

Zsofia Molnar's card just makes me smile with her creative use of stamp sets to create a nontraditional, but delightful, baby card. Zsofia uses Loveable Laundry stamp set, Love Bites stamp and die set, and Sending Hugs stamp and die set. Seriously darling!

Andrea Shell's soft pastel colors are perfect to welcome a new baby. She uses Sending Hugs stamp and die set, Simply Sentimental stamp set, and Fancy Edges Tag Die set. So sweet!

Debbie Owens makes a fun star-shaped card featuring Wild Child  stamp set. Love the soft pastel colors and the star-themed pattern paper. The added button and twine are great embellishments.


Diane Morales creates this darling shape card combining Wild Child stamp set and Toucan Party stamp set. Those leaves are a wonderful way to showcase the mommy and baby giraffes!  So cute!
