Inky Paws Challenge #106

This biweekly challenge is a:

Theme Challenge

Create a project using the theme-- HALLOWEEN.

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20 store credit to our Newton's Nook Design online shop! We will also highlight our favorites from each challenge the following Monday so all entries have a chance to be featured on this blog! 

You have TWO WEEKS to play along - Deadline to enter is Friday, September 20, 2019 at Midnight CST. The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.

Best witches by Debbie features Witchy Newton, Bokeh, Ghosts, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Debbie Owens starts with a purple card base on which she adds black and white washi tape to the right edge. She then creates a haunting background by using the Bokeh Stencil set with lime green and purple distress inks.  She then uses the Ghosts Stencil and white ink to add the ghosts. To make the panel she uses a die from the Frames & Flags die set. Using the largest banner die, she adds the black banner on which she embosses the sentiment from the Witchy Newton stamp set. She adds the lime green ribbon before adhering the kitty in her purple boot using dimensional tape. Eerily fun!


Happy Halloween by Diane features Candy Corn by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales creates a round shaker card filled with sweet delights! She stamps candy corn throughout her background and adds orange, white, and black sequins as well as colored candy corn cutouts using the Candy Corn stamp and die set. She completes her shaker card by adding her Halloween sentiment (Halloween Trio stamp set) on a wavy banner and a trio of candy corns and a bit of black polka-dotted ribbon. Super cute!


Have a be-witch-ing good time by Sue features Witchy Newton, Flying Bats, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Sue T. also uses the Witchy Newton stamp and die set to great her Halloween card!  Beginning with an orange card base, she die cuts her black panel using the Framework die set.  She die cuts out a circular window in which she places her batty background. She creates this background using the Flying Bats stencil. She then lightly distresses a full moon over the bats. She adheres the panel with dimensional tape. She stamps the kitty image from the Witchy Newton stamp and die set and colors in colors of Halloween. She adheres this with dimensional tape along with a couple of spooky bats!


Wishing you a spooky Halloween by Becky features Spooky Streets, Creepy Cameos, and Land Borders by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Using only black and white, Becky Noelle creates this spectacular Halloween card!  She begins with a black card base and speckles with white.  She adds white hills using the Land Borders die set and speckling in black. She stamps the tree, bats, haunted house, and gravestones from the Spooky Street stamp set and adheres to her scene. She pulls the spooky sentiment from the Creepy Cameos stamp set and stamps in black.  A delightfully scary Halloween card!

Bobbi Lemanski creates a spooky nighttime background in which these mischievous rascals can play. Those little fellows are from the Raccoon Rascals stamp. By coloring the trash can in shades of orange, Bobbi gives her card the perfect touch of Halloween colors. She adds a speech bubble using the Speech Bubbles die set with the fun surprise sentiment. She finishes with embossing the Halloween sentiment in white.  A creative way to re-purpose this fun stamp set!

Inky Paws Challenge #96 Reminder

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration 
for our current challenge! 

Here'a a refresher.
Theme Challenge

Create a project using colored pencils. 

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 




Debbie Owens created this fun birthday card by combining several NND products. Using the Framework die set she creates her burnt orange layer. She then uses the Hardwood stencil and colored pencils to create the hardwood layer which she die cuts using the Frames & Flags die set. She wraps these layers with twine. She adds the darling chickens from the Cluck stamp set with dimensional foam. She stamps the sentiments and cuts them using the Speech Bubbles dies set.

You're Moo-velous! by Diane features Moo, Oink, and Fence by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales creates a fabulous circle card! She creates her vivid blue sky and adds a bit of green grass on which she places the white fence using the Fence die. She adds the sweet cow and bales of hay from the Moo stamp and die set. Then she places a very tired pig from the Oink stamp and die set on her bales of hay!



Thinking of you by Sue features Peony Blooms and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Sue T. gives us this stunning card using the Peony Blooms stamp set that she colors with Faber Castell water color pencils. She creates the postage-stamp edges for her base by using the Framework die set. She stamps the sentiment and adds a splattering of enameled dots as finishing touches!

Becky Noelle.had to sharpen her colored pencils a lot when she created this beauty! She colored her base by using the Tree Rings stencil. Then she pulls out the Peony Blooms stamp set and colors them in lovely shades of yellow. She adds hand-drawn stems which she bundles together with a twine bow. She adds a white stripe and stamps the sentiment.


May you days be filled with surprises by Bobbi features Evergreens, Bokeh, Cloudy Sky, and Raccoon Rascals by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Bobbi Lemanski creates this stunning night scene starting with the Evergreens Stencil. She adds that full moon using the Bokeh Stencil Set and adds clouds using the Cloudy Sky Stencil. She then adds the trio of nocturnal raccoons using the Raccoon Rascals stamp set. She adds hand drawn grass and stars to complete her amazing scene!

Inky Paws Challenge #91 Reminder

 Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge!

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 

Let's party by Debbie features Newton Celebrates, Newton's New Year, and Bubbly by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Debbie creates this festive card by creating a pale pink background using the  Bubbly stencil. She adds  black and white washi tapes before adding the sweet kitties from the Newton Celebrates and Newton's New Year stamp sets. She adds a bit of gel pen and sequins for some some shine!

Feline Good by Diane features Newton's Sweeheart, Tumbling Hearts, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales brings on the sweetness with this cutie!  Starting with the Tumbling Hearts stencil she creates a gray and pink romantic background on a white card base die cut using the center die from the Frames & Flags die. Then she softly colors the feline couple from Newton's Sweetheart stamp set in soft grays.

Thinking of You by Sue features Cottage Garden and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Sue T. brings us this elegant card using a base of gingham pattern paper which use die cuts with the scalloped edge die from the Frames & Flags die set. She adds a white base in which she embellishes with images from the Cottage Garden stamp and die set. She adds her sentiment on a banner. Oh, so pretty!

Happy Birthday by Becky features Peony Blooms, Simply Sentimental, and Tree Rings by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Becky Noelle also brings us a gorgeous and elegant card which she starts by using the Tree Rings stencil. She then adds these fabulously colored flowers from the Peony Blooms stamp set. Then she adds her sentiment from the Simply Sentimental stamp set which she embosses in white on a black background. So elegant!


Happy Birthday by Bobbi features Raccoon Rascals, Cozy Campers, and Land Borders by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Bobbi Lemanski brings us this darling and whimsical card. She begins by hand drawing the trees in gray and adds pink and red leaves. She then adds a darling camping scene using the
Cozy Campers stamp and die set.  She adds lots of pink flamingos which she places on the different horizons using the Land Borders die set. In the foreground, she incorporates this naughty raccoon from the  Raccoon Rascals stamp set.  Darling!

Those cool sunglasses on the llama makes Debbie Owens card delightful! She starts with pink and white layers. She stamps the sweet llama from the Loveable Llamas stamp set and uses the challenge colors on the blanket. She then adds a yummy cocktail from the Cocktail Mixer stamp set, and adds a speech bubble from the Newton's Day Dream stamp set to showcase the sentiment. She adds a bit of washi tape and sequins to finish it off.


Big Wishes by Diane features Argyle, Holding Happiness, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales creates an oval shaped card with scalloped edges. She uses the Argyle stencil to create the background using pink, white and gray. She adds the banner from Frame & Flags die set and stamps the sentiment. The focal point of her card is the girl holding the big bouquet of balloons from the Holding Happiness stamp set. The added hearts on the balloons are a perfect touch!


Snappy Birthday by Sue features Shark Bites and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Who knew a shark could look so sweet! Sue T. obviously did with this fabulous gray and pink shark from the Shark Bites stamp set! She adds a school of pink fish and a popped-up speech bubble. For sparkle, she adds pink glitter paper and a stripe of white and black pattern paper that she partially die cuts with the Frames & Flags die set to give it a scalloped edge.

Becky Noelle's card definitely has love in the air! She starts her card by lightly distressing th!e background using the Tumbling Hearts stencil. She adds the Eiffel Tower from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set and sentiment from the Uplifting Wishes stamp set. She creates the ground using gray card stock and the Land Borders die. She adds two feline images from the Newton Dreams of Paris that she colors wonderfully!


My heart is owl yours by Bobbi features Love Owl-ways, Bubbly, Raccoon Rascals by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Bobbi Lemanski begins this sweet card by distressing the bubbles from the Bubbly stencil in a darker shade of pink than her card base. She them adds a strip of black and white washi tape. She adds clouds from the Raccoon Rascals stamp set. Her focal point is the pair of gray owls from the Love Owl-ways stamp and die set. She adheres a pink and red heart banner from the branch. Cute!

This card by Shelly made us smile! We loved the simplicity of the card and how well the swatch of messy burlap went with the raccoon from our new Raccoon Rascals stamp set!

This lovely card by Juilien caught our eye too. We love how she was inspired by the challenge to use a lace butterfly embellishment that went just right with the butterflies from our  Beautiful Wings stamp set!
