Inky Paws Challenge #240 Week 1

 

 Welcome to Inky Paws 

May Challenge!

For May, we have a fun sketch that 
you can use for any occasion!

You have four weeks to get creative with this sketch using your NND Products!

You have from Monday, May 5, 2025 to Friday, May 30, 2025 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!  The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.  Make sure you check the challenge rules page before you link up your project. 

Here's some inspiration.  

This month's month sketch is super versatile as you will see with the IPC DTs projects.  Are you inspired to make summer cards, Father's Day cards, Halloween, or maybe even a Christmas one!

Danni Bindel was inspired to make this delightful puppy card using the Fetching Friendship stamp set. She selects papers from the A Dog's Life paper pad and uses the Circle Frames and the Frames & Flags die sets to create her multiple layers.  Love that this pup has a stash of tennis balls!

Debbie Owens is inspired to create a Christmas card. She uses papers from the Canine Christmas paper pad and die cut using the zig-zag frame die from the Frames & Tags die set. She then pulls out the Christmas Puppies stamp set and selects the same puppy as on the paper. Since this is a taller image, Deb opts to use an oval(Oval Frames) instead of a circle from the sketch.  Good job getting a jump start on your Christmas stash with this adorable card!

Amy Tollner decides on a floral card filled with spring freshness. She pulls papers from the Spring Blooms paper pad and layers them on her chartreuse green card base. She uses the Circle Frames die set for her stitched circle on which she has placed some sweet lilies of the valley using the Little Lilies stamp and coordinating die set.  So pretty!

Claire Lamb uses the sketch for this playful card spotlighting this delightful puppy trio from the Spring Heights stamp and coordinating die set. For her background, Claire uses papers from the Spring Blooms and the Pastel Basics paper pads and adds her sentiment in a little stitched circle from the Frames Squared die set. The pink and green combination looks so pretty together!

Crystal Minkler is also adding to her stash of Christmas cards with this festive holiday card. She pulls a trio of pattern papers from the Meowy Christmas paper pad and uses the Framework die set to create her scallop-edged frame. She adds a stitched circle using the Circle Frames die set. The little wreath and sentiment are from the Holiday Postage Sampler stamp and coordinating die set  and add to the festivitity and charm of this pretty card!

Sherry Carrigan cunningly combines Newton's Birthday Bash and Newton's Holiday Mischief stamp sets to make this darling festive card!  The added bow and holly from Pines and Holly dies make a nice finishing touch!  Wonderfully done!

Zsofia's FAVE

 We love how Tracie C. creates a spooky Halloween card using the puppy from Fetching Friendship stamp set.  The little stamped images on the stripe are from Boo Crew stamp set. Super festive and fun!

Diane's FAVE

Sue T. combines autumn colors and elements to make this delightful card!  I love the two different washi tapes she uses as well as how she wonderfully colors the kitties like her real fur babies!  Her card features the Autumn Newton stamp set.

 Lynn Hayes' delights us with all the pink showcasing Newton's Birthday Bash stamp set. !  I love the rainbow colors on the stripe and her fabulous coloring!

Beverly Y.'s festive holiday card features a naughty Newton from Ornamental Newton stamp set. I love the vertical striped paper paired up with the fun circular die. Then there is fun coloring of Newton!  Super festive!

Several of our Design Team Members decided to play along - check out all the awesome birthday cards they created! Read the description below each card to see who made it.

Here is an adorable Valentine by Jess! She used the cute frog image and "Hoppy Valentine's Day" sentiment from our Hoppy Days Stamp set!  I love how the colors pop off the black background!

Samantha used the cute pup from our Fetching Friendship stamp set for her love-themed creation! Pet lovers will definitely agree that LOVE is a four-legged word! 

Here is delightful Valentine by Yukari! That sweet kitty image, eiffel tower and hot air balloons are from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set. I love the scene she created with them! Then she added the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment using our Simply Seasonal stamp set! 

Here is an adorable Love card by Stephanie featuring our elephant image from the Wild about Zoo stamp set. I love the big pink bow and the  "Will ZOO be mine?" sentiment on the wood!

This sweet card by Danielle is purr-fect for Valentines Day! This image from the new Darling Duos stamp set is perfect to go with the "I just want to Snuggle" sentiment that Danielle created!

The rainbow hearts on this card by Kimberly look good enough to eat! She used our new Darling Hearts die to cut out the hearts and the "thinking of you" sentiment is from our Whispering Pines stamp set!

And lastly, here is what I created. I used the love birds from our new Darling Duos stamp set and colored them bright colored copics. I cut them out with the coordinating Darling Hearts die set. I also added the small heart & "love" sentiment from the die set.

Here's a cute turtle birthday card by Danielle using our new In Slow Motion stamp set. I love the fun paint splatter background.

This sweet kitty card by Samantha is so fun! I love the confetti watercolor dots in the background. She used the kitty image with the gift from our Newton's Birthday Bash stamp set and added on the hat from the Fetching Friendship stamp set. 

Jess also used the fun turtle image from our new In Slow Motion for her birthday card! I
love the purple and yellow color combo and the fun dot background!

Here's a birthday card by me - I used Winston's Birthday stamp set to create a fun and simple birthday card! I added some paint splatter and sequins to the background to help add dimension!
