This biweekly challenge is a:

Theme Challenge

Create a project using theme: Use Silver and/or Gold

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20 store credit to our Newton's Nook Design online shop! We will also highlight our favorites from each challenge the following Monday so all entries have a chance to be featured on this blog! 

You have TWO WEEKS to play along - Deadline to enter is Friday, December 21 , 2018 at Midnight CST. The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.

Debbie Owens creates this golden card by die cutting the  background with it's gold foiled design using the Frames & Flags die set. She then adds a wide red ribbon to create a central stripe. She layers elements from the Pines & Holly die set using foiled card stock. For her focal point, she stamps and embosses the sentiment using Ornamental Wishes stamp set and frames it using the Ornamental Shaker die set. Red sequins finish this golden delight!

Diane Morales uses Kraft card stock as her base with looks fabulously with the silver and gold elements. She uses the Frames & Flags  die set to cut her center background. Then shes uses a trio of trees from the Festive Forest stamp set and embosses in silver and gold.  Wonderfully done!

Emily Lauritzen chooses soft blues to complement the silver in her card. She uses the Plaid stencil set with silver and blue inks to create a pretty design and then rotates it to overlay the white base. She uses the Frames & Flags die set to give it the scalloped edges. She softly colors the flowers from the Poinsettia Blooms and adds it to her base.  She pulls words from one of the sentiments from Sentiments of the Season stamp set. So soft and elegant!

Sue T. brings on the glitter with this gorgeous card. She uses the Petite Snow stencil to create a snowy sky.  Then she uses the Evergreens stencil  and silver and gold texture paste for those shimmery trees. For the Merry Christmas sentiment, Sue uses a die from the Holiday Greetings die set with a glittery black paper!  A spectacular card!

Becky Noelle wows with this gorgeous card. Her amazing background uses the Plaid stencil set with some Distress Oxide inks, transfer gel, and foil.  She adds her wonderfully colored flowers from the Poinsettia Blooms stamp set and places her sentiment on a little tag from the Tag Times Two die set.  She adds some golden thread behind her tag for an added touch of elegance. Again, striking!

Inky Paws Challenge #85 Reminder

 Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge! 

Here'a a refresher.

Create a project using the colors: red, white, green, and black. 

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 

Sue T. shows the power of repeatedly stamp an image. For this festive card, she uses the Festive Forest stamp set and stamps the swirly trees in red and green. She adds stars at the top of each tree. Her focus is the center tree with this fabulous sentiment.

Becky Noelle is decking the halls with this holly and berry delight. She creates an inlaid die background using the Pines and Holly die set. She then adds the black stripe to ground the white embossed sentiment from the Ornamental Wishes stamp set. 

Debbie Owens uses the challenge colors for a fun birthday card. She cuts the black embossed background using the Framework die set and cuts a circular window. She adds some vellum waves using the Sea Borders die set. She colors all those sharks from the Shark Frenzy stamp set in shades of gray and adds a birthday hat (Newton Loves Cake stamp set) to the hammerhead. She adds a diagonal stripe with the sentiment and adds a bit of twine and sequins.

Diane Morales makes these fabulous tags to add to her darling holiday packages. She creates the round tag by using the Tags Times Two die set and partially stamps an image from the Santa Paws Newton stamp set. She the rectangular-shaped card, she again uses the Tags Time Two die set, but for this card she adds some texture using the Serene Stripes stencil. She pulls images from the Santa Paws Newton stamp set and adds a sentiment banner.  Her final tag, Diane uses the Festive Forest stamp set and fussy cuts them out and adds the North Pole. She attaches it to her darling box which she stamped and colored using the Santa Paws Newton set.

Emily Lauritzen uses the Petite Snow stencil to create her subtle background and dies cuts with the Frames & Flags die. She adheres it to a black background. She then creates the festive wreath using the Pines & Holly die set.  She adds an ornament from the Beautiful Baubles stamp set. She then embosses the sentiment from Sentiments of the Season on vellum.  So lovely!

Inky Paws Challenge #82 Reminder

 Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge! 

Here'a a refresher.
Create a project using the colors:  Lime Green, Yellow, Orange, and Purple. 

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 

Debbie Owens uses pencils to color this contented kitty from the Newton's Nap Time stamp set. She adds this fun sentiment from Thankful Thoughts stamp set which she puts on a banner from the Frames & Flags die set and adds a green background. She again uses the Frames & Flags die set to cut the scalloped background from purple gingham. She adds an orange twine bow to pull everything together.

Diane Morales creates this playful tag that is just spook-tacular!  Using the Newton's Perfect Pumpkin stamp set, Diane repeatedly stamps the spider webs to make her background. She then colors the kitty witch and pumpkin in the challenge colors. To top off her tag, she creates that fun tassel!

Emily Lauritzen creates this stunning marbled background which she cuts using the Frameworks die set. She adheres it to purple card stock which showcases it beautifully.  Then she stamps the leaves in yellows using the Shades of Autumn stamp set.  Her thankful sentiment is from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set.

Sue T. water colors her strip in shades of purple and stamps that scary tree from the Spooky Street stamp set. She then colors this Halloween feline from the Newton's Perfect Pumpkin stamp set.  She adds the bats and moon to finish this fun Halloween card!

Becky Noelle purple background with flying candy corns makes for a fabulous scene for this furry, feline witch. Those candy corns are from the Candy Corn stamp set and the witch is from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night. Using the Tags Times Two die, she hangs the sentiment from Creepy Cameos stamp off the broomstick. The added sequins, vellum clouds, and twine are purrfect touches!

Inky Paws Challenge #81 Reminder

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge!

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 

Becky Noelle creates this 3-dimensional pop-up box using the Autumn Newton stamp set. She creates a blue autumn sky then colors her frolicking feline. To create that big pile of leaves, she stamps a lot of leaves, fussy cuts them, and does a lot of masking.  A labor of love that is totally worth it because this is just a-meow-zing!

Debbie Owens creates multiple layers by embossing a brown stripe. She then adds a large banner in black gingham with a black border. She then die cuts a circle for a black frame to showcase Autumn Newton stamp set image. She adds the sentiment to a smaller banner and adds some twine to finish it off.

Diane Morales creates these little autumn treat boxes.  Can't you just see these sitting on your Thanksgiving table?  After creating her boxes, she creates the grass using the Land Borders Die. She then colors these sweet critters from the Harvest Tails stamp set and adheres to her grass. Using the Tags Two Times Die, she creates tags and adds a bit of twine to finish them off!  So cute!

Sue T. mimics the plaid blanket in the inspiration photo by using the Serene Stripes stencil.  She then stamps this fun-loving feline from the Autumn Newton stamp set who is frolicking in the leaves.  Using the Framework die set, she creates her background and stamps the sentiment.

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 

Debbie Owens has Newton flying high above those little houses on the background paper!  How fun! Debbie's card features Newton's Birthday Balloons stamp set, Birthday Essentials stamp set, and Frames & Flags die set.

Diane Morales's trio of tags for these darling gift bags are so bright, festive, and super fun.  Diane combines the Holding Happiness  and Uplifting Wishes stamp set with the Tags Time Two die set. Such a delightful trio!


Emily Lauritzen's bright background mimics the inspiration cake wonderfully!  Using sentiments from Newton's Birthday Bash and Uplifting Wishes stamp sets, Emily demonstrates the power of only words!  To really make everything pop, she layers with black paper using Frames & Flags die set.

Zsofia Molnar also mimics the layers of the cake in the inspiration, and wow!  Isn't this just the most magical card? Zsofia used Believe in Unicorns stamp for those darling unicorns!  This is definitely going to make someone's birthday special!

 Andrea Shell's gorgeous, yet playful card is purr-fectly designed!  Using Birthday Essentials and Newton's Birthday Bash stamp sets. She creates the textured edge, Andrea uses
 the Confetti stencil. Lovely!

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 

Zsofia Molnar creates such a sweet background using the Cloudy Sky stencil. I love the pastel clouds with the wonderfully colored bunny from the  Bitty Bunnies stamp set.  Zsofia also uses the Fancy Edges Tag die set and sentiment from Newton's Easter Basket stamp set.

Andrea Shell combines these fun little patterned papers to showcase the Cuppa Cactus stamp set and Fancy Edges Tag die set. Such an adorable card with all the colors and patterns!

Debbie Owens creates this yummy card by repeatedly stamping the chocolate truffles and candies from the Love & Chocolate stamp set in black while highlighting one scrumptious chocolate on the tag.The scalloped edges from the Frames & Flags die set adds a nice finishing touch to this simple card.

Diane Morales creatively uses the sketch to make this darling shaker card. Love the plaid paper, cute flowers from the Hello Spring stamp set, and darling bunny from the Bitty Bunnies stamp set. Diane also  used the Tags Times Two die set. Seriously cute!



Emily Lauritzen wows with this beautiful card! Her multi-colored background looks fabulous with the black and fun scene using Newton's Birdbath stamp and Land Borders die sets. Emily also uses the Frames & Flags die set

Here's some inspiration!

Several of our Design Team Members decided to play along - check out all the awesome birthday cards they created! Read the description below each card to see who made it.

Our April Guest, Christy played along with our challenge and created this yummy card! She used our Tag Sampler stamp set and Tags Times Two Die Set for the handmade with love tag. The little dotted heart image is from Winston's Honeybees. I love how she paired it with pattern paper that has handmade jars of yummy goodies on it! 

Samantha created this fun card using the sketch! I love the black and white background with the pop of color for the tag! She used our Tag Sampler stamp set and Tags Times Two Die Set for the tag. The ice cream is from the Summer Scoops stamp set. 

Jess created this fun BEE card using our new Tag Sampler stamp set and Tags Times Two Die Set  along with the cute bees from the Winston's Honeybees stamp set! I can just imagine those bees buzzing every direction!

Crafty Math-Chick had fun with our new Tag Sampler stamp set and Tags Times Two Die Set on her card. I love how she added in the ball of yarn from the Newton Unwinds set to create a fun background - and the subtle sweater paper too!

I created a mermaid themed card with this sketch! I used our Tag Sampler stamp set to stamp the tag and I cut it out with the Tags Times Two Die Set. Then I colored the mermaid from the Mermaid Crossing stamp set and fussy cut her out. I added the "have a FIN-tastic birthday" sentiment to the tag, also from the Mermaid Crossing stamp set!
