Inky Paws Challenge #251 Week 1

 

April bring bright beautiful colors to Inky Paws!

Use the colors Magenta, Turquoise, Purple, and Bright Yellow!

You have until Friday, May 1, 2026 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!  The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.  Make sure you check the challenge rules page before you link up your project. 

Here's some inspiration.  

Go BOLD with this fun color combo! Reminiscent of an 80's color palette, the bright colors in this challenge work great for birthday cards, thank you cards and more! If you've been eyeing the New Retro paper pack, you are in luck. Each designer has used this paper pack in very unique ways, Let's check them out!

Debbie Owens retro birthday card features Newton's Mix Tape stamp set atop a vellum circle (Circle Frames die set). She creates her card design using the Card Layout 4 die with papers from the New Retro paper pack. The sentiment is from the Party On! stamp set. Totally cute!

Kelly Santi wants to party on with her tubular card! She, too, uses the Newton's Mix Tape stamp and coordinating die set a top a circle (Circle Frames die set) with papers from the New Retro paper pack. She creates the large tag using the Basic Frames die set. Her sentiment is from the Party On! stamp set. Party on!

Amy Tollner uses papers from the New Retro paper pack and the Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment with the Card Layout 7 die. She then adds the overly tall stack of books from the Never Enough Books stamp and coordinating die set with a cup of coffee on top!  A gnarly way to use the challenge colors!

Claire Lamb creates a very dramatic card using papers from the New Retro paper pack with the Card Layout 6 and the Corner Flip die sets. She adds a black feline using the Newton's Mix Tape stamp and coordinating die set. She embosses her birthday sentiment from the 

Party On! stamp set on a banner using the Banner Trio die set. Totally RAD!

 

Danni Bindel pulls papers from the New Retro paper pack and uses the Card Layout 7 die. She uses the canine from the Puppy's Mix Tape stamp and coordinating die set for her star attraction atop a scallop-edged circle (Circle Frames die set). Her paper selection is quite bodacious!

The October Challenge Continues!

You have several more weeks to get creative with your NND products using these festive colors!

Here's some inspiration.  

This month's colors may have you thinking Christmas, but don't limit yourself.  These colors work amazingly with birthday and coffee-themed cards! Check out what the IPC team designed to inspire you!

Debbie Owens creates a fun birthday card using the Confetti stencil with papers from the Pastel Basics paper pad. She colors all those packages from the Sky High Celebrations stamp set in the colors of the challenge. At last, she adds the birthday sentiment from the Dog Birthday Party stamp set. A super cute way to celebrate one's special day!

Amy Tollner creates this stunning Christmas card using the A2 Card Layout 2 die with papers from the Meowy Christmas paper pad. She uses the images from the Bells & Holly stamp and coordinating die set and colors them in the challenge colors. The overall effect is holiday magic!

Claire Lamb creates this amazing card using no stamps!  Using her amazing distressing skills, she inks the trees from the Evergreens Frame die and places them on a stunning pink and red backdrop.  For her sentiment, she adds the hello from the Filigree Oval Frame die set. Such a beautiful card!

Danni Bindel was also inspired to make a card using no stamps. For her card,  Danni uses the Mugs stencil to create a background of coffee cups in the challenge colors She then adds the scallop edging using a die from the Frames & Flags die set. She creates a stitched circle using the Circle Frames die set to place her large sentiment from the A Hug in a Mug die. Fabulous way to send some coffee fun!

Inky Paws Challenge #244 Week 1

 

The September Challenge 

has begun!

This month we are getting ready for

 fall or Halloween.

You have four weeks to get creative with your NND products using either the theme fall or Halloween!

You have from Monday, September 1, 2025 to Friday, September 26, 2025 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!  The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.  Make sure you check the challenge rules page before you link up your project. 

Here's some inspiration.  

This month theme-Fall or Halloween-has so many possibilities.  This week many of the IPC members were sharing similar creative vibes. Let's check them out!

Debbie Owens features the Card Layout 3 die with pumpkin paper from the Autumn paper pad. She then adds the little kitten from the Fall Harvest stamp set and places extra pumpkins (Paw-tumn Newton stamp set) for good measure. She uses one of the panels from the Card Layout 3 to emboss her sentiment.  Such a fun pumpkiny card!

Amy Tollner also showcases the Card Layout 3 die with a mixture of papers from the Autumn paper pad. She uses the very tall stack of books from the Autumn Reads stamp and coordinating die set and colors all of them to match her paper selection. For her sentiment, she uses a banner die from the Frames & Flags die set.  So adorable!

Claire Lamb opts for a Halloween scene showcasing her wonderful distressing skills on the little panels from the Postage Stamp Layout die. She then adds an assortment of scary characters from the Trick or Treat Newton stamp and coordinating die set. Such a spookily cute card!

Crystal Minkler creates her own background using the Falling Leaves stencil die cut using the postage die from the Framework die set. She adds the very smart Newton from the Newton's Reading List stamp and coordinating die set.  She adds an extra stack of good reads using the Autumn Reads stamp and coordinating die set.  A purr-fect way to spend a fall day!

Danni Bindel also showcases the Card Layout 3 die with a beautiful mixture of papers from the Autumn paper pad. She adds the tall stack of books from the Autumn Reads stamp and coordinating die set and colors her books with similar colors from the paper.  For her sentiment, she stamps on a stitched circle using the Circle Frames die set. Another fabulous way to showcase the fun NND autumn products!

Crystal Minkler creates such a fun spring card filled with spring showers and pretty flowers! Those fun papers are from the Springtime paper pad. She stamps her wonderfully colored puppy from the Rainy Day Doxie stamp set on an oval from the Oval Frames die set. Her sentiment was stamped on a circle cut using the Circle Frames die set. A colorful, fun way to use the challenge sketch!

Debbie Owens uses the sketch in a playful way featuring the kitty from the Newton's Kite stamp set. She uses the Oval Frames die set for her center which she adds the Cloudy Sky stencil as well as the Land Border die set. All those fabulous papers are from the Spring Blooms paper pad. She adds a sentiment form the Birthday Roundabout stamp set to complete her bright, fun card!

Diane Morales designs the cutest birthday card using the Birdhouse Greetings stamp and die set. She pulls several papers from theBirthday paper pad to pull in the colors of her birdhouse. To break everything up, she adds her white oval using a die from the Oval Frames die set.  An adorable birthday card!

Amy Tollner brings us this beautiful, yet playful card. She uses the A7 Frames & Banners die set to create her card base. She pulls papers from the Springtime paper pad. The flowers in the paper coordinate wonderfully with the flowers in the bicycle basket. This sweet image is from the Loads of Blooms stamp and coordinating die set. For the yellow, polka-dotted oval, Amy uses the Oval Frames die set. Such a darling way to send birthday wishes!

Claire Lamb creates such an elegant card using the sky. She uses the Orchids stamp and coordinating die set. She places her beautiful flowers on an ivory oval framed with a golden, scallop-edged oval using the Oval Frames die set. For her background, she uses the Sky Borders die set to create a scalloped stripe. She also uses the Quatrefoil stencil to create a textured layer. The total effect is this gorgeous card!

Crystal Minkler builds her card around the cutest little mushroom from the Fabulous Fungus stamp set. She places it on a circle (Circle Frames die set) and adds some grass beneath it. She then pulls papers from the Birthday Party paper pad and uses an assortment of dies from the Frames & Flags die set and the Frames Squared die set. Love how her red mushroom pulls out the splatter of red in the paper! Super fun and festive!

Debbie Owens uses the Quatrefoil Stencil and distress ink in lavender for an elegant birthday background. She cuts it using the scallop-edged frame from the Frames & Flags die set. On a banner, she adds a sentiment from the Birthday Roundabout stamp set. Her feature element is the Siamese kitty from the Newton's Gift stamp set. A pretty way to send birthday wishes!

Diane Morales's card is all about the ice cream! These yummy treats are from the Summer Scoops stamp and coordinating die set. She places them on a scallop-edged card base (Frames & Flags die set) which has been partially embossed and distressed using the Quatrefoil stencil. The added sprinkles are a fun touch balancing out Diane's card!

Amy Tollner's card is bursting with birthday cuteness! Her scallop-edged layer (Frames & Flags die set) has pastel confetti (Confetti stencil) all over it! She adds a vellum oval (Oval Frames die set) embossed in white using the Birthday Oval stamp set. Front and center is one of the ladies from the Holding Happiness stamp and coordinating die set. Her sentiment from the Birthday Roundabout stamp set has been added to a banner (Banner Trio die set). The overall effect is an amazing birthday card!

Claire Lamb's birthday card with tacos, margarita, and cats is a perfect combination to celebrate a birthday! She distresses a trio of circles (Circle Frames die set) distressed in hues of lime green to place her elements from the Newton Loves Tacos stamps and coordinating die set. Her CAS style and vibrant colors are fabulously done!

Avra's card captured Diane's eye with its clean and simple design packed with a lot of spring beauty!  Avra uses the Floral Roundabout stamp set with the green striped paper from the Springtime paper pad for her beautiful card!

Julie S.'s card is also Amy's favorite pick!  Julie's sweet scene with the critters from the retiring Woodland Picnic stamp and coordinating die set make for a delightful spring card! So cleanly and brightly done!

Claire's FAVE

Meghan K. won over Claire's heart with all those bunny bums!  Meghan combines the Bunny Tails stencil set with the little bunny from the Bunny Hop stamp set to create this fabulous Easter card.  She pulls the perfect sentiment from the Bitty Bunnies stamp set. Her pretty pink polka-dotted paper is cut using the postage-edge die from the Framework die set. So darling!

Crystal's FAVE

Crystal loved the creativity of Jennifer K.'s card.  Jennifer repurposed the Newton Celebrates stamp set by making the champagne bottle into a little vase for those pretty spring blooms.  The pale green paper adds another nice spring touch to this darling card!

Debbie's FAVE

Dandi's use of light- blue plaid paper with the bright red tulips from the Tulips and coordinating die set caught Deb's eye as well as the clean crispness of the design. The little butterfly was a sweet touch to this lovely duo!
