Inky Paws Challenge #183

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20 store credit to our Newton's Nook Design online shop! We will also highlight our favorites from each challenge the following Monday so all entries have a chance to be featured on this blog! 


You have TWO WEEKS to play along - Deadline to enter is Friday, October 7, 2022 at Midnight CST. The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.

Sue T. is showcasing those beautiful sunflowers from the darling Paw-tumn Newton stamp and die set. She keeps the card bright using the yellow leaves paper from the Autumn paper pad and creates the tag using the tag die from the Fancy Edges Tag die set. She uses the plaid paper for her trio of banners which gives her card a sweet country charm.  Her sentiment comes from the Autumn Mice stamp set.  Lovely!



Hey there pumpkin by Amy features Frames & Flags, Newton's Boo-tiful Night, Halloween Meows, Fancy Edges Tag by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #catcards, #cardmaking, #halloweencards
Amy Tollner's card is filled with the cutest Jack-o-lanterns ever!  Her background paper is from the  Halloween Meows paper pad.  Doesn't it work splendidly with the Jack-o-lantern images from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night stamp and coordinating die set. She distresses a painted-splattered tag cut using the Fancy Edges Tag die set.  Her banners and the scallop-edged frame were created using the Frames & Flags die set.  A super cute Halloween card!



Happy birthday to you by Claire features Newton's Birthday Trio, Banner Trio, Frames & Flags, Heartfelt Blooms by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #catcards, #cardmaking, #birthdaycards
Claire Lamb shows us how the sketch can be used to whip up the cutest birthday card!  Her sweet CAS card has light blue banners using the Banner Trio die set.  Instead of an actual tag, Claire uses the image from the Newton's Birthday Trio stamp and the coordinating die set. Don't you love how she shaded this trio of Siamese kitties?  To get that stitching around the center panel, Claire uses the  Frames & Flags die set and trims off the scallops.  The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set. Sweetness!

It's harvest time over on Debbie Owens's card! Her card is filled with pumpkins, gourds, and squashes! She pulls paper from the Autumn paper pad and creates her background frame using the Framework die set. She then uses the Fancy Edges Tag die set to create her golden tag on which she places her kitty image from the Autumn Newton stamp set. She adds some extra pumpkins and leaves using images from the Pumpkin Latte stamp set. Her banners were created using the Frames & Flags die set using coordinating papers from the Autumn paper pad. A harvest paradise!

Diane Morales is showcasing some scary critters from the Spooky Skeletons stamp and coordinating die set. She places them on tag using the Bookmark die set. Her trio of bright banners were created using the A7 Frames & Banners die set. To give her card a bright, fun Halloween feel, she pulls the candy paper from the Halloween Meows paper pad. Just love the playfulness of this card!

Tracy Grauer showcases the Autumn Oval stamp set in such an elegant way.  She uses the Oval Frames die set to cut various ovals including an orange gingham oval using papers from the Autumn paper pad.  The black card base and scallop-edged oval add a dramatic effect that is just beautiful!

Tracy Grauer  is not only our randomly chosen winner of the $20 store credit, but she is also Diane's fave! Her black background and scallop-edged oval (Oval Frames die set) add a nice contrast to the orange gingham paper pulled from the Autumn paper pad.  Inside her center oval is the beautifully colored image from the Autumn Oval stamp set. The added twine and pearls add nice touches of texture!  So lovely!

Kristi uses the 
Autumn Leaves die set in a beautiful way.  With a black background, she inlays different leaves in the challenge colors. She then pulls a sentiment from the retired Shades of Autumn stamp set.  The overall effect is so bold and very stunning!

Amy Gross showcases lots of bones in her fabulous card!  She uses all the skeletal images from the Spooky Skeletons stamp set to create her background.  She then stamps the little pumpkin images from the same set in orange and the stars in yellow!  Fabulously done, Amy!

Andrea creates this lovely card that has a nice cozy, rustic feel.  She showcases the darling kitten (colored like Andrea's very own fur baby) from the Newton's Crate stamp and coordinating die set. She then adds paper with a linen pattern that is distressed and stamped with stitching.  The brown gingham paper continues the coziness of this charming card!

Fleece Navidad by KT Fit Kitty features Fleece Navidad, Pines & Holly, and Ornament Shaker by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #christmascard, #sheepcard, #cardmaking
KT Fit Kitty shows off her creative thinking with this very non-traditional Christmas card!  She embosses snowflakes on her cream card base, then adds a pretty pattern paper in the challenge colors. She adds that sweet lamb from the Fleece Navidad stamp and die set on an orange ornament using the Ornament Shaker die set. The black bow was cut using the Pines & Holly die set. For her black element, she embosses the sentiment on a little banner.  So lovely!

Diane Morales mimics a candy corn kernel with her slimline design! She uses the Slimline Frames & Portholes and the Slimline Frames & Windows die sets for her card base. For her trio of windows, she stamps the Spooky Roundabout  image to create a subtle, spooky background just perfect for her ghosts!  Those fun ghosts are from the Newton's Costume Party stamp and coordinating die set. She sprinkles in some flying bats from the Count Newton stamp and coordinating die set. She white embosses the sentiment on a black banner using the Banner Trio die set.  So, so fun!

Sue T. shows how to combine stencil sets to create a super fun Halloween card!  She combines the 
Bat and Ghosts stencil sets to create her card base.  Her hand drawn faces on the ghosts is a fabulous touch! She adds a speech bubble using the Speech Bubbles die set and adds Trick-or-Treat sentiment using the Halloween Trio die set.  Spook-tacularly done!




Amy's shadow box features Spooky Streets, Spooky Skeletons, Land Borders, Count Newton, Halloween Trio, and Peppermint by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #halloweencards, #cardmaking, #catcards, #shadowbox
Amy Tollner makes a graveyard shadow box complete with purple lights!  She uses the Land Borders die set for her hills and grass and adds a moon using the  Peppermint die set. She uses images from the Spooky Street and the Spooky Skeletons stamp sets to create her eerie background with flying bats from the Halloween Trio die set.  Among the tombstones awaits a scarily-cute Newton from the Count Newton stamp and coordinating die set. Absolutely amazing!

Claire Lamb's amazing blending talents are showcased in this card. Her mulberry-colored sky coupled with her deep green hilly landscape (Land Borders die set) are just stunning together!  She adds a trio of birch trees using the Forest Scene Builder die set.  Taking a break from his nightly duties is our beloved Newton in his cozy coffin.  He and the tombstones are from the Count Newton stamp and coordinating die set.

Inky Paws Challenge #130 Reminder

Hey gull friend by Becky features Gull Friends and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Becky Noelle uses the mirror image technique to create this quartet of gulls from the Gull Friends stamp set. They look so cute atop the posts with the white cap waves.  The fun background was die cut using the scallop-edged die from the Frames & Flags die set.



I'd rather be found at the lake than found at home by Crystal features Winston's Lake House, Cozy Campers, Land Borders, and Sunscape by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Crystal Komara designs a slimline card filed with friends at the lake!  Using the Sunscape stencil, she creates yellow beams of sunshine rising behind her cabin from the  Winston's Lake House stamp and die set.  Looks like some friends are joining the fun and have set up camp with their retro camper and flamingos from the Cozy Campers stamp and die set. Everyone from the Winston's Lake House stamp and die set is down at the lake enjoying the dog days of summer.  Among the cattails is some lush, green grass die cut using the Land Borders die set.  Hope they have fun!

Debbie Owens creates a ghastly slimline Halloween card.  With a distressed background, she embosses the haunted house, tree, and graveyard from the Spooky Street stamp set and adds an assortment of animal skeletons from the Spooky Skeletons stamp set. She uses the Ghosts stencil and the hanging spider and bats from the Newton's Perfect Pumpkin stamp set for some extra scary elements. The sentiment stamped on the full moon caps off her Halloween-themed card!



Enjoy the little things by Diane features Tea Rex, Newton Dreams of New York, Snow Globe Scenes, Happy Little Thoughts, Frames & Flags, and Circle Frames by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales' card will definitely bring a smile to your face with it's Godzilla takes New York scene!  She uses the Circle Frames die set to create her card base, then adds her skyline scene using buildings from the Newton Dreams of New York stamp and die set and Snow Globe Scenes stamp and die set. 
For her Godzilla she uses the Tea Rex stamp and die set.  Don't you love that he is taking a little tea break?  To finish her card she stamps the sentiment from Happy Little Thoughts stamp set onto a banner from the Frames & Flags die set.  A super creative way to combine sets for a fun scene!


Relax, enjoy your day by Sue T. features Sunscape, Newton's Summer Vacation, Newton's Perfect Wave,  Sky Borders, and Sea Borders by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
More summer fun, anyone? Sue T.'s card is packed full of beach fun!  Using the Sunscape stencil, Sue creates a sun-filled background for her beach-lovin' felines from the Newton's Summer Vacation stamp and die set and Newton's Perfect Wave stamp and die set. She uses the Sky Borders die set on Kraft paper for her beach and the Sea Borders die set for layers of waves. A purr-fect way to spend a summer day!

Meow & fur-ever by Bhavya features Clouds and Newton's Sweetheart by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Bhavya's  take on the sketch by making two of the windows into balloons was wildly creative!  Behind those bright balloons you'll spy some fun pink clouds distressed while using the Clouds stencil. She adds the sweet felines from the Newton's Sweetheart stamp and die set and adds the white embossed sentiment on a black banner.  Adorable!

Fright Night by Amy T. features Spooky Street, Spooky Skeletons, and Slimline Frames & Portholes by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Amy T. uses fluorescent colors for all her scary images from the Spooky Skeletons stamp and die set. She adds them to her spectacular background and shimmery black frame die cut from the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set.  Look in those portholes and see all the spooky images from the Spooky Street stamp set. A spook-tacular way to celebrate Halloween!

Joyce M. creatively uses the sketch to look through windows and see what her furry friends are up to!  For two of her windows, we can see the kitties from the Newton's Book Club stamp set inside enjoying some books. Don't you love those yellow gingham curtains?  Her center window has us looking outside to see the puppy and kitty from the Porch Swing Friends stamp set enjoying an afternoon nap!  So clever!

Oh snap! Get well by Betty Tollner features Ginger Snap, Newton's Sick Day, and Slimline Frames & Portholes by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Betty Tollner's use of two very different stamp sets makes for a fabulous get well card!  She uses the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set to set the stage with fun papers and colors. Her doctor from the Newton's Sick Day stamp and die set looks like she has her paws full with the injured kitten (same set) and gingerbread man from the Ginger Snap stamp set, often reserved for the winter holidays. The addition of the medical supplies adds fun touches to the get well message!

Wish you were her by Rebecca W. features Newton's Summer Vacation and Slimline frames and Portholes by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Rebecca W. creates a spectacular background using the scallop-edged frame from the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set Don't you love how it goes from the sky, waterline, and sandy beach?  She selects the perfect images from the Newton's Summer Vacation stamp and die set for each natural element.  A superbly designed summer card!

Inky Paws Challenge #129 Reminder

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 

You're so cool by Sue T. features Summer Scoops and Newton's Summer Treats by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
It's all about yummy Popsicle pops in Sue T.'s summery card!  Her pattern paper matches the summery treats from the  Summer Scoops stamp and die set. She selects the Popsicle lovin' Newton from the Newton's Summer Treats stamp and die set for her central attraction.  What a fabulous way to stay cool!




 Becky Noelle makes a water shaker card that is just too amazing!  Beginning with the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set, Becky creates her shaker base. She uses elements from the Purr-maid Newton and Narly Mermaids stamp sets for her watery backdrop. She then adds sand and glitter in water for her "shaker" element.  Her wonderfully colored tabby from the Scuba Newton stamp set can be seen enjoying all those underwater delights!



Free hugs by Crystal features Shark Bites by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Any one need a hug?  Crystal Komara's card has some friends ready to give free hugs!  With rays of sun from the Sunscape stencil shining in the background, she adds some sparkling waves using the Sea Borders dies set before adding her trio of shark friends from the Shark Bites stamp and die set.  The waves in front are filled with small schools of fish darting among the friendly meat eaters!  



It's your birthday by Debbie features Bleat, Oink, Moo, Cluck, Neigh, Banner Trio, Land Borders, Slimline Frames & Windows, and Slimline Frames & Portholes by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Debbie Owens mixes and matches stamp and die sets together this farm scene filled with critters!  She begins with the red scallop-edged frame die cut using the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set and adds her trio of square windows using the Slimline Frames & Windows die set.  She uses some fun farm pattern paper to place in her window and the Land Borders die set for a little hill in the center panel. The little brown fence was cut using the Fence die.  All the critters come from the Bleat, Oink, Moo, Cluck, and Neigh stamp sets. At last, she adds her birthday sentiment on a little red banner cut from the Banner Trio die set. 


Rattle Your Bones by Diane features Slimline Frames & Windows, Banner Trio, and Spooky Skeletons by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnookDiane Morales has another Halloween card to share using the challenge sketch!  Using the Slimline Frames & Windows die set, she adds her white frame on a black card base then uses the Floral Lace stencil to create the bright panels on card stock. She adds a variety of scary skeletons from the the Spooky Skeletons stamp and die set.  She uses the Banner Trio die set to add the fun sentiment.  A bright, spooky design!
