Inky Paws Challenge #240 Week 3

May Challenge!

You still have time to get creative with this month's sketch!

The May sketch can be used with any occasion card!

You until Friday, May 30, 2025 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!  The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.  Make sure you check the challenge rules page before you link up your project. 

Here's some inspiration.  

Have some scraps of pattern papers lying around?  Need some birthday cards? Use this month's sketch to whip up some fun birthday cards!  Let's see what the IPC DT has created this week.

Amy Tollner designs the cutest card to congrat friends on their new home.  And what could be cuter than a kitty in a box? This cute image is from the Newton Loves Boxes stamp and coordinating die set. Amy pairs the image with a trio of coordinating papers from the A Cat's Life paper pad. She also used the Circle Frames die set. So cute!

Claire Lamb designs this delightful birthday card using the Sky High Celebrations stamp and coordinating die set. The curly que paper from the Birthday Party paper pad is a festive background and pairs nicely with the polka dotted paper from the Bright Basics paper pad. For her stitched circle, Claire uses the Frames Squared die set. Celebrating in style!

Crystal Minkler is also bringing us a festive birthday card. She chooses the cake-loving feline from the Newton Loves Cake stamp and coordinating die set. She selects papers from the Birthday Meows paper pad. She uses the Frames & Flags and the Circle Frames die sets for her stitched elements.  Just love all those kitties with their birthday hats!

Danni Bindel uses a trio of polka dotted papers from the Bright Basics paper pad that make for a darling setting for the book-loving feline from the Newton's Reading List stamp and coordinating die set. She uses the Frames & Flags and the Circle Frames die set for her stitched manners. Darling!

Debbie Owens designs this festive Halloween card using papers from the Halloween Meows and the Bright Basics paper pads. She then adds the feline in his candy corn costume that coordinates with the background paper. This sweet image is from the Candy Corn Newton stamp set. She uses the Frames & Tags and the Basic Frames die sets to create her stitched elements. Trick-or-treat, indeed!

  Welcome to a new Inky Paws Challenge!

This is a color challenge.

Use the colors Amethyst Purple, Fuchsia Pink, Sky Blue, and Sand Brown.

Danni Bindel uses papers to depict the colors in the challenge. Those celebratory papers are from the Birthday Meows paper pad arranged on a blue card base.  She is featuring some playful kitties from the Newton Loves Boxes stamp and coordinating die set. She places them atop a scalloped heart Heart Frames die set to compliment the scallop-edging on her main panel (Frames & Flags die set). A super fun way to send birthday wishes!

Debbie Owens creates a card filled with yummy chocolate treats. She uses the Frames & Tags Die Set to create her overall design and adds sweet papers from the Love & Chocolate Paper Pad. She adds a teal serving tray to display those delectable treats from the Love & Chocolate stamp set. Scrumptious!

Amy Tollner is also featuring a scrumptious treat--a 6-tier cake from the Newton's Birthday Delights stamp and coordinating die set!  She adds to the festivities by using the Confetti Stencil to distress some confetti in the background.  She uses the scallop-edged frame die from the Frames & Flags die set for added fun! Those sweet kitties are just too cute!

Claire Lamb takes us to a beautiful beach scene!  She creates her spectacular setting using distress inks with the Sea Borders and the Land Borders die sets.  She adds two of the lovely ladies from the Summer Moments stamp and cordinating die set who look like they are enjoying themselves.  The bold challenge colors look amazing!

Newton looks like he is having a fabulous time in Crystal Minkler's birthday card!  Newton from the Newton's Birthday Balloons stamp and coordinating die set is enjoying himself amidst the bubbly backdrop. Those beautiful bubbles were created using the Bokeh Stencil set. A fun, festive way to send birthday wishes!

Karen Guettler Carlson's shark card is Danni's fave! Karen uses the Shark Frenzy (Retired) stamp set to create the subtle background. She adds a watery banner for her star atraction--the ferocious shark from the Shark Bites stamp and coordinating die set. Such a fun birthday card!

Debbie's FAVE

Debbie loves the combination of paper Jenny Shamblin uses to showcase the little mouse 

from the Garden Mice stamp set. Such a sweet, spring card!

Amy's FAVE

Amy loves the bright colors Crafticarrie uses for her Easter card! The colors and combination of papers work wonderfully with the sweet bunny from the Hoppy Greetings stamp set. A super festive Easter card!

Claire's FAVE

Claire loves Kathy K. coloring of the kitty from the Newton Loves Boxes stamp and coordinating die set and the color combination she uses. Combine all of that with the pawprint paper from the Coffee House Stories paper pad, and you have a fantastic card!

Dandi93 uses the Newton Loves Boxes stamp and coordinating die set in a very creative way.  She uses those furry heads as part of her "Boo" sentiment which is so cute.  Paired with the fun ghost paper and the sentiment from the Newton's Costume Party stamp set, Dandi creates a super fun Halloween card!

Von Marie showcases three little dachshunds from the Dress Up Doxies stamp and die set. They look so cute in their Halloween attire!  Von Marie adds a little spookiness using the Flying Bats stencil for her background.  So cute!

Claire's FAVE

Jennifer K. shows her creativity by adding a Halloween hat to the feline from the Newton Celebrates stamp set. She then uses the little Jack-o-lantern candy bucket from the NND Freebie collection.  She does some cutting of the sentiment stamp to create a custom sentiment.  Seriously, this is so creative and fun!

Crystal's FAVE

Kristi H. uses paper  from the Halloween Time paper pad for her spooky background framed with a black edge.  She then adds a couple of spookily cute ghosts from the Ghostly Goodtimes stamp and die set.  The overall effect is a brightly cute Halloween card!

Danni's FAVE

Marianne maximizes the spiderweb image from the Newton's Perfect Pumpkin stamp set by embossing lots of them in silver for an eerie background. She then adds some plaid green grass just perfect for Newton and all his pumpkins (Newton's Perfect Pumpkin stamp set). The black and white diagonally striped paper is a great background surrounding the scene!

Lisa's tower of boxes is the purr-fect playground for any furry feline! This tower of delight was created by masking images from the Newton Loves Boxes stamp set. Her combination of the black gingham background, fabulous coloring, and splattering of red hearts make this a truly delightful card!

Debbie's FAVE

The bold background paper on Danni's card works fabulously with the Cuppa Cactus stamp and die set. She uses the challenge colors to shade the coffee cups and cacti. She stamps the fun sentiment on an oval die and finishes with enamel dots.  

Diane's FAVE

This darling tag by Kicka showcases the Newton's Sweetheart stamp set wonderfully. The selection of pattern paper with the little hearts provides a romantic theme for this feline couple.  The green collar and the little paw prints on the sentiment tag are perfect touches!

Emily's FAVE

Karren brings us this lovely card using the Peony Blooms stamp and set die set.  The black stripe with the glittery embossed polka dots contrasts beautifully with the wonderfully shaded flowers and leaves. Such a wonderful CAS card! 

Sue's FAVE

Milene's amazing blended background provides a wonderful means to showoff her darling panda, with his googly eyes, from the Playful Panda stamp set and die. To incorporate the green from the challenge, she die cuts and colors several bamboo stalks!  Way cute and fun!

Diane Morales showcases Newton Loves Boxes stamp set with these two sweet tags using the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. The plaid paper and touch of twine will brighten up any birthday present!

Emily Lauritzen has creatively used from the Newton's Donut stamp set. She has created a little pool for her kitty to enjoy lounging on his donut-shaped floaty. She inks a sentiment from the Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set. The heart-shaped pattern paper die cut with the Frames & Flags die set looks like grass. Who wouldn't want to be here?

Zsofia Molnar creates a bright, vibrant and totally darling summer card!  Her ink sunny background and big waves make for a perfect place for these bears Papa Bear stamp set and die to romp and play!  The sentiment from Aloha Newton stamp set works perfectly!

Andrea Shell has this darling interactive card. Her little kitty from the Newton's Donut stamp and die  set actually swings! Her soft pastel background  has been die cut using the  Frames & Flags die set.

Debbie Owens bright polka-dotted background compliments the colorful toucans from Toucan Party stamp set. The large tropical leaves sticking out are a fun touch. The Frames & Flags die set was used to create a white frame against the black background.
