Inky Paws Challenge #220

 

  Welcome to a new Inky Paws Challenge!

This is a theme challenge.
Use the challenge theme--Polka Dots!

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20 store credit to our Newton's Nook Design online shop! We will also highlight our favorites from each challenge the following Monday so all entries have a chance to be featured on this blog! 


You have TWO WEEKS to play along - Deadline to enter is Friday, April 12, 2024 at Midnight CST. The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.

Claire's beach card features Pastel Basics, Sea Borders, Land Borders, and Beach Barks by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #beachcards, #dogcards, #summercards, #cardmaking, #cardchallenge
Claire Lamb's polka-dotted waves look fabulous on her beach-themed card. Those waves were created using paper from the Pastel Basics paper pad and die cut using the Sea Borders Die Set. She continues by using the Land Borders Die Set for her beach and the Palm Tree Line stencil set for those gorgeous trees. The puppy duo from the Beach Barks stamps and coordinating die set are soaking up all that tropical atmosphere!


Crystal Minkler designs this fun-filled Easter card using papers from the Pastel Basics paper pad. She uses the Frames & Tags Die Set to create her different layuers. The trio of Easter critters are from the Spring Pile Up stamp and coordinating die set, and they are look darling with the pastel polka-dotted papers!


Danni Bindel's use of bright polka-dotted papers from the Bright Basics paper pad makes for a very bright and cheery card! She uses the newly released Frames & Tags die set to create the different layers. She showcases those yellow boots and kitten from the Newton's Rain Boots stamp and coordinating die set. The punny sentiment is sure to bring a smile to the recipent's face.


Debbie Owens opts for a slimline card using dies from the Slimline Frames & Portholes and the Slimline Frames & Windows die set. She creates her cloudy sky using dies from the Sky Builder die set. She adds the floating feline from the Newton's Umbrella stamp set as well as the grounded puppy from the Rainy Day Doxie stamp set for her star attractions. For her polka dotted elements ,she paper pieces the umbrellas and puddle using the newly released Pastel Basics and the Bright Basics paper pads!


Amy Tollner was also inspired to use an umbrella element in her card. She features the umbrella lady from the Loads of Blooms Stamp and Die Set. She places her lady on a polka dotted layout combining the Pastel Basics paper pad and the newly released A2 Card Layout die set. Her sentiment from the Spring Roundabout stamp set is stamped on a banner using the Banner Trio Die Set.

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge! 

Happy Easter by Debbie features Frames Squared, Spring Blooms, Circle Frames, Frames & Flags, and Newton's Peeps by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #catcards, #eastercards, #cardmaking, #springcards, #cardchallenge

Debbie Owens creates a sweet square card using hte Frames Squared die set for her base. She adds a scalloped circle (Circle Frames die set) using the yellow floral paper from the Spring Blooms paper pad. Using hte same paper pad, she adds the quatrefoil panel. She stamps her sentiment on a banner using the Frames & Flags die set. Her star attraction is the gray feline from the Newton's Peeps stamp set with his basket of peeps!


Amy Tollner also creates a darling Easter card. She distresses some yellow flowers using the Petitie Flowers stencil and cut using the scallop-edged frame from the Frames & Flags die set. She adds a circular vellum layering using the Circle Frames die set. Her star attraction is the sweet bunny and her basket from the Hop Into Spring stamp and die set. She heat embosses her sentiment from the Spring Roundabout stamp set on a banner using the Banner Trio die set. So much Easter cuteness!




Claire Lamb designs a lovely friendship card using the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set and die cut using the scalloped heart from the Heart Frames die set. She places this on a lavender card base using the Argyle stencil set. She adds her sentiment on a small banner using a die from the A7 Frames & Banners die set. A fabulous take on the challenge colors!


Crystal Minkler uses similar products as Debbie for a totally different Easter look! She uses the yellow floral pattern from the Spring Blooms paper pad and die cuts with the postage-edged die from the Framework die set. She die cuts her stitched circle using the Circle Frames die set. Her star attraction is her sweet white feline from the Newton's Peeps stamp set. So cute!!




Danni Bindel shows how the challenge colors can be used for a birthday card! She uses papers from the Birthday Meows paper pad and cuts them using dies from the Framework die set. She stamps her sentiment on a stitched circle (Circle Frames die set). All those sweet kitties on the ice cream cone are from the Newton's Birthday Delights stamp and coordinating die set. Her added sequins add a nice birthday touch!

Diane Morales uses the A7 Frames & Banners die set to make this bold and delightful card.  For her the sketch panels, she takes the tulip paper from the Spring Blooms paper pad and carefully cuts the panels and adheres to the green card base.  She then adds the relaxing kitten in his chair from the Kitten Beach stamp and coordinating die set with tuffs of grass (Newton's Blooms stamp and die set).  She pulls her spring sentiment from the Spring Roundabout stamp set. So cute!


Amy Tollner pulls papers from the A Cat's Life paper pad to make a playful backdrop for her yarn-lovin' feline from the Newton Unwinds stamp and coordinating die set. She creates a gray oval using the Oval Frames dies set on which she stamps her sentiment.  Love the playfulness of this card!


You lift me up by Claire features Clouds and Delightful Doxies by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #puppycards, #dogcards, #cardchallenges, #cardmaking
Claire Lamb takes a more artistic approach to the sketch by creating clouds stacked high into the sky just perfect for her little friend and his kite. This little puppy is from the Delightful Doxies stamp and coordinating die set. For those layers of clouds, Claire uses the Clouds stencil.  Love this whimsical take on the sketch!



Bring on the merry by Crystal features Christmas Trimmings, Meowy Christmas, and Oval Frames by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #holidaycards, #christmascards, #cardchallenges, #cardmaking
Crystal Minkler uses all three of the little ladies from the Christmas Trimmings stamp and die set for her trio of holiday cards!  She pulls a trio of coordinating papers from the Meowy Christmas Paper Pad to create the bright, festive backgrounds and adds one of the ladies on a green scalloped oval (Oval Frames dies set) on each card.  Bring on the merry indeed!  Be sure to grab the retiring Christmas Trimmings stamp set before they are sold out!


You're one in a melon by Debbie features Frames & Flags, Summertime, and Newton's Watermelon by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #summercards, #felinecards, #cardchallenges, #cardmakingDebbie Owens was inspired to create a summery card filled with watermelon colors! She adds a white scalloped frame (Frames & Flags die set) onto a lime-green card base. Then she creates her panels with papers from the Summertime paper pad. The pink and green stripes work wonderfully with the little watermelon-lovin' feline from the Newton's Melon stamp set.  A scrumptiously refreshing card!

Don't you love how she colors the flowers in the pot to match the paper!  So fun!

Diane Morales turns the sketch horizontally to make this bright, spring card. She pulls papers from both the 
Springtime and Love & Meows paper pads. She selects dies from the Oval Frames and Frames & Flags die sets to create the different layers.  Her yellow tulips from the Tulips stamp and die set coordinate wonderfully with the tulip paper!  Lovely!


Sue T.'s elegant card begins with a polka dotted embossed layer die cut using the scallop-edged

She places her pot of flowers and kittens (Newton's Blooms stamp and die set) in green grass using the Land Borders die set. Just a-meow-zing!

Amy Tollner's pastel Easter card is just too cute!  With a pastel blended background, Amy adds shimmer using the Basketweave stencil and texture paste.  She then creates a cloudy sky using the Clouds stencil which is die cut using the scalloped frame from the Circle Frames die set and adds grass using the Hills & Grass stencil. Pastel banners are die cut using the Frames & Flags die set.  She stamps and colors the kitty with his Easter basket using the Newton's Peeps stamp and die set. She colors her peeps in pink, lavender, and yellows!  So cute!  For added interest, she adds more chicks and butterflies from the Newton's Birdbath stamp and die set butterflies.  Seriously, this is amazingly cute!

Claire Lamb knows how to celebrate birthdays in cuteness!  She partially distresses a pastel background. Then she uses the Confetti stencil to add texture and shimmer.  She pops on some little clouds and adds the kitten with his colorful balloons from the Newton's Birthday Balloons stamp and die set.  She adds a black and white diagonal banner and a white one with the sentiment.  So much cuteness!




Espresso your love by Debbie features Newton's Mug, Mugs, Love Cafe, Frames & Flags, and Circle Frames by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #inkypaws, #catcard, #cardmaking, #coffeecards
Debbie Owens uses pastel teals and purples to distress her background with a little splattering of white. She die cuts it using the scalloped frame from the Frames & Flags die set. She then distresses the coffee mugs from the Mugs stencil on a darker purple before die cutting using the large circle die from the Circle Frames die set. She stamps the sentiment from the Love Cafe stamp set on a banner die cut using the banner die from the Frames & Flags die set. She focal attraction is the striped kitten in his paper-pieced mug from the Newton's Mug stamp set. She adds glossy accents to give it a more ceramic look.  A super cute coffee card!




Fluttering by with a happy hello by Diane features Monarchs, Bold Blooms, Frames Squared, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #inkypaws, #springcard, #butterflycard
In orange and yellows, Diane Morales brings in spring with this bright, bold card!  She uses the Frames Squared die set to create her scallop-edged card base.  She uses the Bold Blooms stencil to create an orange-on-orange floral layer.  She uses the Frames & Flags die set to create a lime banner and a white one on which she stamps the sentiment.  The beautiful butterfly from the Monarchs stamp and die set is her central element.  So lovely!




Easter Blessings by Sue T. features Spring Roundabout by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #eastercard, #springcard, #cardmaking
Sue T.'s Easter card showcases the fun Spring Roundabout stamp set. With her white card base, she die cuts a circle from the embossed layer.  Within the circle, you'll see the sweet Easter images from the  Spring Roundabout stamp set. Sue adds Washi tape for the sketch banners. She stamps the sentiment on a white rectangle and pops atop the circular element.  A sweet way to send Easter wishes!
