Inky Paws Challenge #256 Week 2

 

September Challenge

We can't wait to see your Fall and/or Halloween creations!

You have until Friday, September 25, 2026 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop! The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday. Make sure you check the challenge rules page before you link up your project.

Here's some inspiration:  We couldn't decide between fall and Halloween so we're choosing BOTH! Create a card with a fall and/or Halloween theme to join. Create a thank you using fall images and colors. Try creating a cute (or spooky) Halloween scene. This time of year is filled with frights and delights! Choose your favorite and enter today!

Kelly Santi creates a cute and delightful pumpkin patch scene. She uses the polka dotted paper from the Autumn Woofs paper pad with the Frames & Tags die set to create the base panel and adds the puppy in basket paper on top of it (Basic Frames die set). She then layers on some green grass with a fence (Fence die) in front. Behind her fence is a trio of puppies from the Pumpkin Tails stamp and coordinating die set searching for the right pumpkin. She stamps her sentiment on a stitched panel using the Frames & Flags die set. The bright colors adds playfulness to this fabulous card!

Amy Tollner combines some autumn products to create this darling card filled with pumpkins. She uses the Fall Harvest stamp and coordinating die set to create the basket with a feline popping his head up. Behind that kitty is a gorgeous oval filled with pumpkins. She creates her oval using the  Autumn Oval stamp set and the Oval Frames die set. Framing everything is a pretty plaid paper from the  Autumn paper pad with the scallop-edging using the Frames & Flags die set. Wonderfully done!

Claire Lamb creates this spooky card using some fabulous distressing skills for the eerie green backdrop. She uses the Spooky Line Street stencil to add some stars and ghosts, and she uses the Haunted House die to create this spooky mansion. The sentiment from the Spiderweb Oval stamp set is just perfect!  Is anyone brave enough to enter?

Danni Bindel uses papers from the Autumn paper pad with the Card Layout 3 die which gives her card a warm, comfy feel. She adds a delicious-looking apple (Autumn Apples stamp and coordinating die set). She adds her sentiment on a stitched panel using the Basic Frames die set. A wonderful card to send to a loved one!

Debbie Owens creates a Halloween card with lots of batty friends. Atop her distressed background, she adds a cloud of bats (Flying Bats stencil) enjoying the sky with our very own Newton. She uses the Batty Newton and the Count Newton stamp set to create her vampire feline. She also uses the Flags & Tags die set to create the "toothy" edging! A spookily-cute Halloween card!

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge! 

Amy Tollner's llama in her lavender shades definitely brings a smile!  This sweet llama is from the Lovable Llamas stamp and coordinating die set. Amy uses the Serene Stripes stencil to create her pastel background which has been cut using the scallop-edge frame die from the Frames & Flags die set. She incorporates a vellum oval (Oval Frames die set) and a rounded banner (Banner Trio die set) which she embosses the sentiment.  A spectacular way to use the challenge colors!

Claire Lamb's sky subtly uses the challenge colors that is perfect for her sweet lambs on their speckled clouds!  Those lambs are from the Baa stamps and coordinating die set, and her clouds were created usign the Sky Borders die set.  Precious!

Crystal O. Minkler uses the challenge colors on this bold, beautiful card filled with butterflies!  She uses the Butterflies stencil set for her background. She places it with a pink layer and a white, scallop-edged frame (Frames & Flags die set). She creates a trio of banners and embosses a sentiment from the Garden Mice stamp set.  So lovely!

Debbie Owens uses the colors for her square-shaped Easter card. She uses the Frames Squared die set for the card base and center panel. She then stamps two tulips (Tulips stamp set) and colors one in lavender and one in pink.  She places them behind the cute bunny and his sign from the Hoppy Greetings stamp set. Such a cute scene!

Diane Morales creates the cutest slimline card using the scallop-edge frame die from the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set. She adds a white fence (Fence die set) which looks fabulous against her pink-speckled background.  Her star attraction is the sweet, tan kitty from the Newton's Easter Basket stamp and die set. She stamps the sentiment on a hand-made banner.  The extra Easter eggs fills in the space wonderfully!

Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20 store credit to our Newton's Nook Design online shop! We will also highlight our favorites from each challenge the following Monday so all entries have a chance to be featured on this blog! 

You have TWO WEEKS to play along - Deadline to enter is Friday, October 21, 2022 at Midnight CST. The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.

Want some inspiration? We've got both spooky and cute cards to get your creative juices flowing!

Amy Tollner creates a cute, sparkly Halloween card filled with sugary delights!  She uses the A7 Frames & Banners die set to create her layers.  That background of sugary candy is from the Halloween Woofs paper pad.  Doesn't it look fabulous with those kittens from the Trick or Treat Kittens stamp and coordinating die set?  She then uses the Halloween Trio die set to cut out her sentiment.  So cute!

Claire Lamb combines dies sets for this fabulously creative Halloween scene!  She distresses an evening sky filled with a brightly lit full moon (Circle Frames die set).  She then adds a weathered fence using the Fence die set atop which are two silhouette of cats from the Cat Silhouettes die set.  She continues with silhouetted grass using the Land Borders die set.  She pulls her sentiments from the Spiderweb Oval stamp set.  Wow!

Debbie Owens creates a spooky oval card beginning with the Oval Frames die set. She stamps the spiderweb (Spiderweb Oval stamp set) and distresses it for an eerie look.  She adds Newton from the Count Newton stamp set, who is looking handsome in his comfy coffin!  She places her sentiment (Spooky Roundabout stamp set) on a banner using the Banner Trio die set. So spooky!

Diane Morales couldn't resist combining Franken-Newton (Fraken-Newton stamp and die set) with Count Newton (Count Newton stamp and die set), and they are just darling together! Her card base is made using the scallop-frame from the A7 Frames & Banners die set.  Love her speckled background and the added bats.  Such a playful friendship card!

Sue T. creatively uses the Jack-o-lantern stencil set.  She begins by using the pumpkin portion of the stencil set and distresses a row of pumpkins at the bottom of her card.  She then adds a big speech bubble out of black using the Speech Bubbles die set and uses the Jack-o-lantern face portion of the stencil set in gold metallic. She pulls the sentiment from the Newton's Boo-tiful Night stamp set. Don't those faces look spooky?

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge! 

Amy Tollner is showcasing papers and dies from the recent mini-release with this sweet card! Layering several papers from the  A Dog's Life paper pad, she die cuts a pink, scalloped heart (Heart Frames die cut) and adds a black Scottie silhouette using the newly released Dog Silhouette die set. A darling way to combine papers and dies!

Claire Lamb also uses papers and dies from the recent mini release. For her puppy card, she uses papers from the A Dog's Life paper pad and creates some scalloped layers using the Sky Borders die set.  She creates a circle (Circle Frames die set) for her sentiment (Welcome New Dog stamp set). She adds a black silhouette of a puppy using a die from the Dog Silhouette die set.  She makes a feline companion card using papers from the A Cat' Life paper pad, a kitty from the Cat Silhouettes die set. Both are so bright and colorful!

 Debbie Owens uses the sketch to make a little happy mail scene. For her scene, she adds some fluffy clouds (Sky Scene Builder die set), inks on some trees using the Tree Line stencil, adds some rolling hills and grass (Land Borders die set), and adds a wood-grain fence (Fence die). She adds the ever cute Newton from the Newton's Happy Mail stamp set peeking out of the mailbox with some happy mail!

Diane Morales is also showcasing the papers from the A Dog's Life paper pad. She showcases the black puppy silhouette (Dog Silhouette die set) on a vellum oval die cut using the Oval Frames die set.  Diane makes a scalloped frame card base using the Frames & Flags die set.  So cute!

Sue T. showcases the Newton's Sweetheart stamp and die set on this romantic card. It is so romantic with the pale pink hearts (Tumbling Hearts stencil).  She uses a speech bubble (Speech Bubbles die set) to add her sentiment. She all pulls sentiments from the Heartfelt Love stamp. So cute!

Helen F. creates this delightful card with several fruity cocktails from the Cocktail Mixer stamp set. She sets them amidst colorful bubbles using the Bokeh stencil set.  Cheers!

Karen G. creates the cutest background using the Serene Stripes stencil for her darling kitty!  Then look at that scrumptious cupcake and sweet kitty from the Newton's Cupcake stamp and die set! Anyone else want to take just a nibble?  Karen also uses an oval die frame (Oval Frames die set) for her vellum and stamps the sentiment on a banner from the Frames & Flags die set.  Delightful!

Danielle creates a fabulous scene using the Petite Clouds stencil set and the Land Border die set for her playful puppy from the Welcome New Dog  stamp and die set.  She adds a fence using the Fence die set. The overall effect is total cuteness!

Debbie's FAVE

Meghan creates bright bold layers using the Frames Squared die set for her crafty cat to play in.  Her sweet orange tabby cat from the Newton's Crafty Cardio stamp and die set looks like she is having a grand time with all her crafting supplies. So fun!

Diane's FAVE

Donna uses the challenge colors beautifully using the Peony Blooms stamp set. Donna then layers her flowers on a pretty pink card base with a green patterned paper.  She places the sentiment from the Porch Swing Friends stamp set on a black background that really pops against the bright colors. So pretty!

Anila's CAS card is filled with elegance and beauty. She uses the roses from the Roses stamp and die set and colors them in beautiful pinks. Her textured stripes and splattering of baubles look fabulous with the roses!  Spectacular! 

Amy's FAVE

Danielle captures the spirit of friendship in her sweet card!  She sets the scene with the fluffy clouds created using the Petite Clouds stencil in the blue sky and the tall green grass.  She adds the light tan fence using the Fence die set and adds the cute puppy with his turtle friend from the Puppy Friends stamp and die set. The sentiment pulls it all together!  Such a fun, sweet way to thank a friend!

Donna's card will have you planning your next trip to Paris!  She creates a fun, bright cloudy sky using the Cloudy Sky stencil. She adds some green hills with patches of colorful flowers.  Then she adds the big Eiffel tower using the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp and die set.  The two French kittens are looking fabulous!

Meghan's little piglets will just make you smile! She uses some fabulous pattern papers that provide a warm-farm feel. She then stamps and colors two of the pigs from the Oink stamp and die set wonderfully.  Just love those little rosy cheeks!

Diane's FAVE

Karen uses the Thank you freebie to create her sweet background for the doe.  She then stamps and colors the doe from the Woodland Spring stamp and die set and places it above the black sentiment strip.  The little extra flowers a nice splash of color.  A wonderfully designed card!
