Inky Paws Challenge #233-Week 1

  Welcome to our new Monthly 

Inky Paws Challenge!

For the month of October 

we have fabulous colors to play with!

Use Burnt Orange, Olive Green, Slate Gray, and Cream with your NND products. 
You have four weeks to get creative with these colors and your NND Products!

You have from Monday, October 7, 2024 to Friday, November 1, 2024 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!  The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.  Make sure you check the challenge rules page before you link up your project. 

Here's some inspiration.  

This color combination would make gorgeous Fall projects, but don't limit yourself.  How about using these colors for a Halloween-themed card or a masculine birthday card?  So many possibilities!  Let's see what our IPC DT came up with:

Deb's Halloween card features Trick-or-Treat Newton, Trick-or-Treat Puppy, Frames & Tags, Spooky Street, Haunted House, Land Border, and Spooky Stories by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #cardmakingideas, #cardchallenge, #halloweencards, #halloween, #catcards, #puppycards, #dogcards
Debbie Owens shows us how these beautiful colors can be used to make a Halloween card!  Her card is filled with Halloween products including the Spooky Stories stamp set, the Trick-or-Treat Newton stamp set, the Trick-or-Treat Puppy stamp set, the Spooky Street stamp set, and, lastly, the Haunted House die.  
Deb makes her spooky scene using the Land Border die set, the Frames & Tags die, and the Clouds stencil. A fun way to use the October colors!

Amy's cozy reading card features Autumn Reads, Argyle, and Fractured Card Layout by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #cardmakingideas, #cardchallenge, #readingcards, #autumncards
Amy Tollner creates an amazing autumn card combining the challenge colors with the Argyle stencil set. She then cuts her background with the Fractured Card Layout die creating a unique background to showcase the pile of books from the Autumn Reads stamp and coordinating die set.

Claire Lamb, too, uses the Autumn Reads stamp and coordinating die set for her card.  Her pile of books rests against a gorgeous green distressed backdrop.  For added autumn fun, Claire adds falling leaves to her layout!

Crystal's birthday card features Newton Loves Taco, A Cat's Life, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #cardmakingideas, #cardchallenge, #catcards, #birthdaycards, #tacocat
Crystal Minkler uses the October colors to create a darling birthday card!  She chooses papers from the A Cat's Life paper pad in burnt orange and another in slate gray to make her layers with the help of the Frames & Flags die set. Her star attraction is our very own Newton from the Newton Loves Taco stamp and coordinating die set. Such a fun way to use the October colors!

Danni Bindel uses the Fractured Card Layout die with papers from the Autumn Basics paper pad to create an amazing layout for her colorful, autumn leaves from the Leaf Splendor stamp and coordinating die set.  What a stunning way to celebrate autumn!

Claire Lamb uses a horizontal interpretation of the sketch, and it's spectacular.  The ink-blended circles look amazing with the flowers from the  Floral Delights stamp and coordinating die set. For her circles, she made masks/stencil using the Frames Squared die set.  Creative and beautiful!

Birthday Brew by Crystal features Heart Frames, Heartfelt Coffee, Circle Frames, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #coffeelovers, #coffeecards, #birthdaycards, #cardmaking, #cardchallenge
Crystal Minkler's birthday card is perfect for anyone who loves coffee. Her coffee-stained panel was die cut using the Framework die set. She then uses the Heartfelt Coffee stamp image which she die cuts using a heart die from the Heart Frames die set, and a circle die from the Circle Frames die set. All that coffee goodness makes for a "brew-tiful" card!

Danni Bindel also creates a birthday card using the sketch. Her bright and festive card features the darling llama from the Loveable Llamas stamp and coordinating die set. She pairs him with tons of different birthday papers from the Birthday Party paper pad. Her many layers were cut using dies from the Circle Frames and the Framework die sets.  Let the party begin!

Live life in the meow by Debbie features Petite Paw Prints, Frames & Tags, Circle Frames, Cat-titude, Newton Loves Taco, and Birthday Meows by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #catcards, #cardmaking, #cardchallenge, #summercards
Debbie Owens card features the margarita loving feline from the Newton Loves Taco stamp set. To create a bright and festive mood, she uses the Petite Paw Prints stencil for her background which was die cut using the Frames & Tags die set. She adds striped paper from the Birthday Meows paper pad. She pulls a sentiment from the Cat-itude stamp set and uses the Circle Frames die set to create her circular elements.  The overall effect is total cuteness!  Check out her blog for several variations of this card. 😊

Amy Tollner's card is filled with feline fun!  She uses the Pawprints stencil to create a subtle background panel die cut using the scallop-edged die from the A7 Frames & Banners die set. She wonderfullyy colors all those felines from the  Company of Cats stamp set and cuts using a die from the  Circle Frames die set. The fish skeleton paper A Cat's Life 6x6 Paper Pad is a fabulous touch!

Debbie Owens features two feline friends enjoying some tacos and margaritas!  Those sweet felines are from the Newton Loves Taco stamp set and they are set a top papers from the Bright Basics paper pad.  Deb uses the Frames Squared and the Frags & Tags die set to create her square card and the little panels.  Hope these little fur balls enjoy their outing!

 

Amy's friendship card features Newton's Rainy Days, Basic Frames, Banner Trio, Springtime, and Raindrops by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #friendshipcards, #catcards, #springcards, #cardmaking, #cardchallenge
Amy Tollner's card shows the true nature of friendship!  Here little critters are sharing an umbrella on a rainy day. They are from the Newton's Rainy Day stamp and coordinating die set. She uses the Basic Frames die set to create her plaid panel using papers from the  Springtime paper pad. For her big banner she creates raindrops using the Raindrops stencil and teh Banner Trio die set.

Her bottom panel is filled with clouds and is cut using the Frameworks die set.  For added fun, Danni adds some white puffy clouds using the Sky Scene Builder die set.  So much cuteness!

Inky Paws Challenge #203 Winners

Look closely and you'll spy some salt on the rim!  She sets her festive feline on fun designer papers created by repeatedly stamping the taco image on the blue card base and the happy birthday sentiment (retired Simply Sentimental stamp set) on the pink scallop-edged (Framework die set) paper. Vicki adds a bit of green with the strip of paper and the lime!  The overall effect is a fun, vibrant birthday card!

We loved Kristi H.'s water-colored background filled with those gorgeous hibiscus blooms! Kristi used the retiring Hibiscus die set and a sentiment from the retired Newton's Birthday Flutter stamp set. The CAS style and mix of colors make for a beautiful tropical card!

Mugdha uses the challenge colors for this super fun party card!  She places our party-going Newton from the Newton Celebrates stamp and coordinating die set in a blue martini glass with pink and red confetti floating about. She adds a bit of green with the olive to complete this fantastic party scene! Anyone else want to party with this fellow?!

We love how she creates the pastel sky with the bold black palm trees (Palm Tree Line stencil).  With the trio of vintage vehicles from the Beach Bound stamp and coordinating die set, it looks like you've arrived at the beach for some summer fun!

Marianne brings more savory drinks to the table using the Cocktail Mixer stamp and coordinating die set. We loved the big round "coasters" behind each drink, especially with splattering of ink for added texture.  The black embossed sentiments and enameled dots add the perfect touches to this fantastic card! Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge! 

As we bring you this week's inspiration, we want take to moment say good-bye to one of our amazing Inky Paws design team members, Diane Morales. 

Diane has been a long time part of the Inky Paws Challenge, first as a challenge participant and then a team member! Over the years her amazing shaped cards and creative interpretations of the challenges have provided so much inspiration! For her final IPC card, Diane doesn't disappoint. Below is here final IPC card, and it's just the cutest!

Diane uses the ever cute kitten from the Kitten Beach stamp and die set playing in his bucket of sand.  Joining him is a little red crab!  Diane creates a subtle background using the shell images from the same stamp set.  Her stitched circle was created using a die from the Circle Frames die set.  Those bright, summery papers are from the Summertime paper pad. Diane completes her card with matching enameled dots.  Another amazing card, Diane!

Debbie Owens combines two stamp sets to create this playful and fun card!  That sweet kitten from the Newton's Flower Garden stamp set is stalking those red birds from the Birdhouse Greetings stamp set. She embosses the center oval (Oval Frames die set) and adds a sentiment cloud (Sky Scene Builder die set).  For the sketch stripes, Deb uses the Trailing Leaves stencil. Her bright blue background was die cut using the Frames & Flags die set to create the scallop edges.  A fabulous combination of products for such a fun card!

She adds blue balloon paper from the Birthday Party paper pad. For her oval (Oval Frames die set), Amy adds lots of confetti using the Confetti stencil.  That precious kitty holding his helium-filled balloons is from the Newton's Birthday Balloons stamp and coordinating die set.  What a way to celebrate a birthday!

This set is retiring, so be sure to get your set before they are all gone!  Don't you love how the grass is sun kissed?  Great job, Claire!

Inky Paws Challenge #196

She then pulls papers from the Birthday Party paper pad and uses an assortment of dies from the Frames & Flags die set and the Frames Squared die set. Love how her red mushroom pulls out the splatter of red in the paper! Super fun and festive!

Diane Morales's card is all about the ice cream! These yummy treats are from the Summer Scoops stamp and coordinating die set. She places them on a scallop-edged card base (Frames & Flags die set) which has been partially embossed and distressed using the Quatrefoil stencil. The added sprinkles are a fun touch balancing out Diane's card!
