Inky Paws Challenge #154

Use stripes in your NND project!



Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? We will chose a RANDOM entry to win a $20 store credit to our Newton's Nook Design online shop! We will also highlight our favorites from each challenge the following Monday so all entries have a chance to be featured on this blog! 


You have TWO WEEKS to play along - Deadline to enter is Friday, August 13, 2021 at Midnight CST. The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.

Amy Tollner showcases one of the puppies from the Fabulous Frenchies stamp and coordinating die set, and boy is he cute in his peach and pink striped sweater!  She places this sweet pup on a distressed tag die cut using the Fancy Edges Tag die set.  For more stripe fun, she uses the Serene Stripes stencil in hues of yellow, peach, and pink for her background which has been die cut using the postage-edged die from the Framework die set. Oh la la!

Oh la la by Claire features Newton Dreams of Paris, Frames & Flags, Land Borders, and Sky Borders by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #catcards
Claire Lamb brings us this amazing pop card featuring the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp and coordinating die set on both the outside and inside of her card!  She has little hot air balloons flying past the Eiffel tower on her diagonally embossed front. Then open up the card, and a large hot air balloon pops up piloted by the ever cute black kitty!  For added fun, she has used the Sky Borders die set for her puffy clouds at the top. Below she uses the Land Borders die set to create her ground on which the love-struck kitten awaits the landing of the balloon!  A fabulous way to use the retiring  Newton Dreams of Paris stamp set!



Find you paradise by Debbie features Frames Squared and Paradise Palms by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #tropicalcards
 Debbie Owens uses some masking to create her striped rainbow-colored background on which she stamps the silhouette of the palm trees and birds from the Paradise Palms stamp set. For added contrast, she adds a black scallop-edged frame die cut using the Frames Squared die set. A simple design packed with lots of colors and fun!  


Happy as a clam by Diane features Kitten Beach, Retro Sun & Palms, and Circle Frames by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #catcards, #beachcards, #summercards
Diane Morales is back with a circular card!  Uses dies from the Circle Frames die set to create her base and layers.  Love those lavender stripes?  Diane uses one of the Retro Sun & Palms stencils to create them. She then adds the ever cute kitten on his beach chair. This cutie is from the Kitten Beach stamp and coordinating die set.  She adds a couple starfish and striped shells to complete this darling card!

Sue T. brings us this beautiful card showcasing the Dainty Daisies stamp and coordinating die set in lovely shades of pink.  For dramatic effect, she, like Diane, uses one of the stencils from the Retro Sun and Palms stencil set to create her black stripes.  She then die cuts this using one of the dies from the Circle Frames die set.  All of this is placed on a white scallop-edged frame die cut using the Frames & Flags die set. She also uses the banner die from this set to stamp her sentiment.  A beautiful combination of NND products!

Anila's CAS card is filled with elegance and beauty. She uses the roses from the Roses stamp and die set and colors them in beautiful pinks. Her textured stripes and splattering of baubles look fabulous with the roses!  Spectacular!

Danielle captures the spirit of friendship in her sweet card!  She sets the scene with the fluffy clouds created using the Petite Clouds stencil in the blue sky and the tall green grass.  She adds the light tan fence using the Fence die set and adds the cute puppy with his turtle friend from the Puppy Friends stamp and die set. The sentiment pulls it all together!  Such a fun, sweet way to thank a friend!

Donna's card will have you planning your next trip to Paris!  She creates a fun, bright cloudy sky using the Cloudy Sky stencil. She adds some green hills with patches of colorful flowers.  Then she adds the big Eiffel tower using the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp and die set.  The two French kittens are looking fabulous!

Meghan's little piglets will just make you smile! She uses some fabulous pattern papers that provide a warm-farm feel. She then stamps and colors two of the pigs from the Oink stamp and die set wonderfully.  Just love those little rosy cheeks!

A million thanks by Karen features  Thank you (NND freebie) and  Woodland Spring by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking
Karen uses the Thank you freebie to create her sweet background for the doe.  She then stamps and colors the doe from the Woodland Spring stamp and die set and places it above the black sentiment strip.  The little extra flowers a nice splash of color.  A wonderfully designed card!

Looks like this kitty is scheming to do some international travels!  Debbie Owens stamps iconic images on her Kraft card base using Newton Dreams of Italy, Newton Dreams of Paris, Newton Dreams of New York, and Newton Dreams of London stamp sets. She adds a red panel die cut using the rounded-corner rectangle from the Frames & Flags die set. Her stow-away kitty from the Stowaway Newton stamp set looks quite comfortable in the suitcase. The added tickets from pattern paper mimic the sketch banners and add a fun travel touch to this darling card!



Happy Paw-tumn by Diane features Frames & Flags and Paw-tumn Newton by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales combines sunflowers, gingham, and a kitty to make this darling card! Set atop the gingham  background, she adds an orange and a golden rod yellow banner die cut using the Frames & Flags die set. The color of her banners coordinate perfectly with the sunflower and pumpkin from the Paw-tumn Newton stamp set. She adds a splash of contrast by coloring the birdie and collar in pale blue. She uses the Paw-tumn Newton coordinating die set to cut it out.  


Give thanks by Sue T. features Pumpkin Patch and Fall Roundabout by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Sue T.'s card is a wonderful example of the power of a stencil!  She uses distress inks in autumn colors and the Pumpkin Patch  stencil to create a striking background. She stamps a sentiment from Fall Roundabout in black.  She adds banners in a plaid and polka dots that coordinate wonderfully with the distressed panel. 



Happy pumpkin spice season by Becky features Pumpkin Latte, Houndstooth, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Becky Noelle creates a white on white autumn card that is just so pretty. With her textured white card base using the Houndstooth stencil, she adds a white panel die cut using the Frames & Flags die set. She stamps the coffee-lovin' ladies from the Pumpkin Latte stamp set and colors them in lovely autumn colors. She adds ribbon for her two banners. Very elegant for the upcoming pumpkin spice season!



Happy Halloween by Crystal features Newton's Boo-tiful Night, Flying Bats, Land Borders, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Crystal Komara creates a brightly colored Halloween card that'll definitely bring a smile to your face! She uses the Flying Bats stencil and distresses bats in purple and yellow. She adds her panel to a black scallop-edged frame die cut using the Framework die set. She uses the Land Borders die set to add a small hill in chartreuse. At last she adds the kitty in his pumpkin patch from the Newton's Bootiful Night stamp and coordinating die set. Her pumpkins in chartreuse, purple, and orange are so delightful!

Inky Paws Challenge #123 Reminder

Happy Blooming Birthday by Sue features Loads of Blooms and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Sue T. captures the beauty of spring with her tulip-laden lady from the Loads of Bloom stamp and die set. She pairs her up with pink-polka dotted banners die cut from the Frames & Flags die set. The pastel plaid paper beneath pulls all the flower colors together wonderfully!


Herd it's your birthday by Becky features Moo, Land Borders, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Becky Noelle takes us to the farm with this darling card. Her trio of banners from the Frames & Flags die set sports a cloudless day with luscious green grass die cut from the Land Borders die set for her black and white cows from the Moo stamp set to munch on.  The red plaid layer coordinates wonderfully with the red barn!  


Bonjour by Crystal features Newton Dreams of Paris by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Crystal Komara's card in pastels of pink and blues sets a romantic scene as Newton from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp and die set flies high above the city in his hot-air balloon. The little hearts and jute bow add a perfect touch!

It's your birthday by Debbie features Holding Happiness by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Debbie Owens is back using a trio of ladies. This time she is showcasing the Holding Happiness stamp set. She greats a paneling backdrop by hand. Her ladies in colors of lime, blue, and pink mimic the challenge sketch. Twine and glossy accents are her final touches.

Make everyday a beach day by Diane features Aloha Newton by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales' card with the trio of palm trees and Newton sleeping in a pink hammock from Aloha Newton stamp and die set will have you dreaming of a day at the beach.  She adds more interest to her card by shaping as a banner.

Inky Paws Challenge #122 Reminder


Today I'm sharing some more inspiration 
for our current challenge!

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge:

Thank you for sticking by you by Diane features Framework, Serene, and Cultivated Cacti by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales gives us a taste of desert with her cacti card!  She cuts a pink-coral frame using the Framework die set. She uses the Serene Stripes stencil to subtly emboss for the background.  The mint green cacti from the Cultivated Cacti stamp and die set look amazing in their colorful pots! For the banner, she uses the Frames & Flags die set. 

Cute boots make everything better by Sue features Frames & Flags, Speech Bubbles, Bokeh, and Newton's Rain Boots by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Aren't Sue T.'s softly colored card just the sweetest!  Using a mint green gingham paper die cut using the Frames & Flags die set, she adds a layer using the Bokeh stencil set. The softly colored critters from the Newton's Rain Boots stamp and die set look darling with the polka-dotted balloons. The sentiment in the speech bubble die cut from the Speech Bubbles die set says it all!  How could these rain boots not make everything better!


Bonjour by Becky features Newton Dreams of Paris and Land Borders by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Bonjour!  Becky Noelle placed a trio of darling felines from the Newton Dreams of Paris stamp and die set in the heart of France!  The Eiffel Tower sits atop the black hills die cut from the Land Borders die set. The coral and mint hot air balloon seems a perfect way to see the sights! 


You make me a happy camper by Crystal features Cozy Camper by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Crystal Komara creates an amazing camping scene using the Cozy Campers stamp and die set. The black and white gingham paper contrasts nicely with the coral and mint trailers.  The table and chairs with the flamingos scattered about make these campsites some homey!  


Feline meow-tivated by Debbie features Flirty Flamingos, Frames & Flags, Newton's Crafty Cardio, and Paradise Palms by Newton's Nook Designs
 This artsy kitty is painting up a fabulous tropical scene in Debbie Owens's card. The furry feline from the Newton's Crafty Cardio stamp set has almost finished painting the flamingo from the Flirty Flamingos stamp set with the silhouette of palm trees from the Paradise Palms stamp set. Using the Frames & Flags die set, she creates the two layers of the card!

Priscilla creates a porthole allowing us to see the pretty mermaid from the Mermaid Crossing stamp set . She adds ocean-theme paper and a red banner for a nice splash of color.

A. Rose keeps it clean and crisp with the use of the bright pink and lime green pattern paper. She stamps the bunny and eggs from the Bunny Hop stamp set in the circle and balances them out with the sentiment.

Happy pumpkin spice season by Jennifer R. features Pumpkin Latte by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Jennifer R. perfectly layers her elements to make this fabulous autumn card. Those ladies are from the Pumpkin Latte stamp and die set, and they look wonderful in the fall colors.  The kraft doily, gingham ribbon, and burlap banner are wonderful elements!

Happy little hello by Amy T. features Hedgehog Hollow, Framework, and Bokeh Hearts by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Amy T.  coordinates all her elements for a perfect blend!  The little hearts on the coffee cup from the Hedgehog Hollow stamp and die set compliment the pattern paper die cut using a die from the Framework die set. She then distresses hearts from the Bokeh Hearts stencil set.  The little lady bug is a perfect finishing touch!

Bonjour by Amy T. features Newton Dreams of Paris, Speech Bubbles, and Cloudy Sky by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Amy T.  is back again with amazing attention to detail and use of coordinating elements. For this card she uses the hot air balloon image from the Newton Dreams of Paris  stamp and die set and adds Paris-inspired pattern paper. She adds glittery clouds using the Cloudy Sky stencil with some little hot air balloons in the distance. For her sentiment, she uses one of the dies from Speech Bubbles die set

On the scallop-edged circle she stamps and lightly shades the flowers from the Easter Lily stamp set.  She combines the rustic element of a jute bow with the glamour of a gold banner.  Beautifully done!

Debbie's card features Newton's Graduation, Newton Dreams of Italy, Newton Dreams of Paris, Newton Dreams of New York, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Feeling trapped inside?  Debbie Owens' card will have you dreaming of iconic destinations when the travel bans are lifted!  Combining images from the Newton Dreams of ItalyNewton Dreams of Paris, and Newton Dreams of New York stamp sets, she stamps images on postage die cuts using  the Framework die set. For her circular element, she adds Newton exploring the globe from the Newton's Graduation stamp set.  She places her elements atop map pattern paper. See that cute passport?  It's from the Stowaway Newton stamp set. Until you get to travel, stay safe!

Can't visit your loved ones?  Diane Morales' card would definitely makes someone's day! She starts with a royal blue card base and adds a fun zigzag paper. Then using the Land Borders die set, she turns it on it's side and adds a dump truck from the Love Quarry stamp and die set . She stamps her sentiment on kraft paper and adds a couple of hearts!  A darling way to send love!

Sue T. designs a beautiful Easter card. She uses the Petite Flowers stencil and distress inks in pastel colors. She layers with a pink pattern paper. She cuts her banner in a yellow paper using the Frames & Flags die set. Her main attraction is that darling bunny from the Hop into Spring stamp and die set who is hiding in the tulips and grass from the Land Borders die set. She pulls the No Peeking sentiment form the Newton's Curious Christmas stamp set.  A delightful way to celebrate Easter!

 Becky Noelle begins her card using textured paste with the Floral Lace stencil. She adds a scalloped circle with a trio of Woodland Spring stamp set enjoying the sunny day.
