Inky Paws Challenge #242 Week 1

 

Welcome to July's Inky Paws Challenge!

This month we have some super fun colors to get creative!

Cotton Candy Pink, Orange Sherbet, Turquoise and Royal Blue

You have from Monday, July 7, 2025 to Friday, August 1, 2025 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!  The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.  Make sure you check the challenge rules page before you link up your project. 

Here's some inspiration.  

This month's fabulous colors can be used for any occasion.  Are you in need of birthday cards or beach cards?  Or stretch your creativity and use the colors for Halloween or Christmas cards!  There's so many possibilities. Let's see what the DT dreamed up:

Amy Tollner uses the colors to design this festive birthday card. She creates blue balloons using the Bokeh Balloons stencil set and gives it scallop edging using the Frames & Flags die set.  She then uses the Birthday Roundabout stamp and the Circle Frames die set for her focal element. At last she embosses her sentiment from the Birthday Essentials stamp set. The overall effect is birthday cuteness!

Claire Lamb creates a super cute beach scene using Newton from the Newton's Sand Dollar stamp set. She then die cuts her oval using the Oval Frames die set and creates a fun beach for her feline to enjoy!  Darling way to use the challenge colors!

Crystal Minkler was also inspired to create a birthday card with a coffee twist!  She begins by creating a colorful background using the Plaid stencil set. She then stamps the coffee image from the Heartfelt Coffee stamp set and cut using the scallop-edging die from the Heart Frames die set.  A super colorful coffee card!

Danni Bindel uses the darling image from the Newton's Birdhouse stamp set. (Don't you love how she colors her sweet kitty?)  Then uses the Oval Frames die set to create her oval layers.  She continues by using dies from the Frames & Flags die set with polka dotted papers from the Pastel Basics paper pad. Super sweet!

Debbie Owens was also inspired to create a birthday card. She chooses the duo from the Sky High Celebrations stamp set floating through a cloudy sky (Petite Clouds stencil). She cuts her cloudy sky with a stitched oval die the Oval Frames die set. For her four little panels, she pulls papers from the Birthday Party and the Love & Meows paper pads. At last she stamps her birthday sentiment  using a stamp from the Birthday Oval stamp set.  A super fun birthday card!

Danni Bindel pulls lots of birthday papers from the Birthday Party paper pad making a very festive background for her birthday sentiment from the Birthday Essentials stamp set. To create her fun card, she uses the Oval Frames die set and the Frames & Flags die set.

Debbie Owens uses the Ghosts stencil in different colors to create her stripes.  She places it on purple striped paper from the Halloween Woofs paper pad.  She adds the little monster from the Franken-Newton stamp set placed atop a black scalloped circle (Circle Frames die set). She adds a little black bat from the Count Newton stamp set.  Deb also uses the Frames & Flags die set and the Framework die set.  The overall effect is a darling Halloween card!

Amy Tollner makes the cutest pumpkin-spice card using the little kitty from the Newton Makes Plans stamp and coordinating die set.  She sets him on a little oval (Oval Frames die set) with a sentiment from the Pumpkin Latte stamp set. For her stripes, she uses a combination of papers from the Autumn Paper pad. She adds a little leaf from the Fall-ing for You stamp set. What a great way to celebrate pumpkin-spice season!

Claire Lamb uses the little snowflakes from the Winter Birds stamp set to create a wintry scene on stripes of purple. {sigh}. She adds her sentiment on an oval (Oval Frames die set). Such an elegant way to send winter wishes!

Crystal Minkler was also inspired to create a coffee-themed card.  She pulls papers from the Coffee House Stories paper pad and pairs them with the little lady from the Sips & Stories stamp set. Crystal uses the Oval Frames die set and a sentiment from the All Booked Up stamp set.  The overall effect is a cozy scene just purr-fect for coffee and a book!

Here'a a refresher.

Use the colors Crimson Red, Cobalt Blue, Turquoise Blue, and white with your NND products.

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge! 

With patriotic floral paper, Debbie Owens mimics the flowers by combining the Roses and Dainty Daisies stamp sets. She die cuts her layers using the scallop-edged frame from the Frames & Flags die set, and stamps the sentiment from the Birthday Essentials stamp on a white banner. The jute twine adds a nice country touch!

Diane Morales has Newton (Newton's 4th of July stamp and die set) enjoying the holiday! Diane uses papers from the Coffee House Stories and the Love & Meows paper pads with dies from the Circle Frames and Frames & Flags die sets to create her festive layout. This fun card could be used for the 4th of July or a birthday! 

Sue T. uses the firework blooms from the Newton's 4th of July stamp and coordinating die set to create the festive background. The kitten and puppy from this same set look like they are enjoying the festivities in their little red wagon!  A spattering of gems and star-shaped jewels add the purr-fect bit of shimmer!

Amy Tollner has her kitten (Newton's 4th of July stamp and die set) rocketing through a shimmery nighttime sky filled with fireworks (Fireworks stencil). She uses the large frame die from the Framework die set to achieve the postage-edging. She finishes with a sentiment from the Birthday Essentials stamp set and some sequins!

Claire Lamb uses the challenge colors in a very unique and beautiful way. She pulls the blue jay from the Winter Birds stamp and coordinating die set and places him among layers of beautiful blue leaves (Fall Friends die set) and red holly sprigs. Look closely and you'll spy some snowflakes made using the Petite Snow stencil. Spectacular!

Claire Lamb creates this darling mini-slimline card using lots of masking to keep it one layer. 

For all those amazing balloons, she uses the balloons from the Holding Happiness stamp set and ties them to the tail of the cute dachshund from the Delightful Doxies stamp set. Doesn't he look so cute floating among the fluffy clouds (Clouds stencil)?

 Debbie Owens creates a beautiful beach scene inside an oval which she created using the Oval Frame die set. She combines the Sunscape stencil and the Hills & Grass stencil for her background and adds the beautiful lady from the Summer Moments stamp set wading into the ocean.  Lovely!

Diane Morales adds so much texture to her one layer card using some texture paste and the Basketweave stencil. She leaves the center open by using the Circle Frames die set to create a mask.

Inside is a bright, yellow lemon from the Lemon Twist stamp set. Doesn't this look so refreshing?

Sue T. uses scoring lines to give her beautiful card more depth. She stamps the floral image from the Blooming Botanicals stamp set on the top and bottom of her card, and shades them in beautiful cool colors.  She pulls a sentiment from the \Birthday Essentials stamp set inside her scored lines. The added jewels add a bit of glam to this amazing card!

Amy Tollner creates this stunning slimline card by inking around the scallop-edged frame die from the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set. She then uses the Slimline Masking Circles & Squares stencil set to distress the trio of boxes with pretty pastel colors. She adds the delicate butterflies from the Beautiful Wings stamp set. What an amazing way to create the illusion of layers!

Inky Paws Challenge #130 Winners

Donna watercolors this serene scene. She uses the Sunscape stencil and watercolors through it. Then she stamps the Paradise Palms stamp set on an island. She heat embosses the sentiment from the Birthday Essentials stamp set in bright yellow.  A wonderful tropical scene!

Inky Paws Challenge #130 Favorites

Our Inky Paws Challenge Inspiration team has chosen a few of their favorite challenge entries from this challenge! If you see your card below, contact us if you'd like to get a "favorite" badge for your blog!

Becky's FAVE

Rebecca creates this darling scene using the Newton's Birdbath stamp and coordinating die set.  She uses the Clouds stencil for her big fluffy clouds. Then she adds some trees and layers of hills. She creates a little clear cutout for her sentiment instead of stamping it over her scene on the outside of her card.  

Crystal's FAVE

Betty creates three little scenes in her windows for her furry friends. Using the images from the Newton Dreams of Italy stamp and coordinating die set, Betty takes us from Pisa to Venice while exploring the food and culture of Italy!  A wonderful way to wish some a happy retirement!

Debbie's FAVE

Papierelle creates a graphic scene for her duo of Cat in Black characters! She uses the Newton's Summer Treats stamp set and makes a mirror image of the Popsicle carrying feline. She adds a cityscape behind them. She individually stamps and cuts out the letters for the Cat in Black sentiment. Such a fun scene!

Diane's FAVE

Farhana creates a dimensional card with her different layers and foam tape. She distresses her clouds in a soft blue and her rolling hills in light green. She uses the Beautiful Wings stamp and colors each butterfly in a hue of a rainbow.  They look as if they are fluttering around this serene scene!

Sue's FAVE

Amy T. creates a festive party scene filled with some fun-lovin' critters!  Starting with the Confetti stencil, she creates a festive backdrop. She then adds the panel flooring using the Hardwood stencil.  The party-goers are then added using the all the critters from the Newton Celebrates stamps and coordinating die set. She uses the party hats from the Newton Loves Cake stamp and die set to make the scene look more like a birthday party.  She stamps the sentiment from the Birthday Roundabout stamp set and die cuts using a banner from the Banner Trio die set and distressing the edges in gold!  Let the party commence!

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge! 

Who couldn't celebrate after seeing this bright, beautiful card?  Becky Noelle goes with a simple, clean card showcasing the cyclist from the Loads of Blooms stamp set.  She adds the big, bold celebrate sentiment from the Birthday Essentials stamp set.  Wonderfully designed!

Starting with  a sunny backdrop die cut using the Framework die set, Debbie Owens combines the Sunscape stencil and the Land Borders die set for a fun setting for the llama from the Loveable Llamas stamp set. She adds several pots of cacti to the scene as well as a large cactus from the Cuppa Cactus stamp set. She adds a sentiment from the Floral Roundabout stamp set on a slim banner from the Banner Trio die set.  A bright way to let someone know you are thinking of him!

Diane Morales creates a round card using the Circle Frames die set. She adds green land using the Land Borders die set. Using the Hummingbird stamp and die set, she adds yellow flowers and a sweet turquoise and orange hummingbird!

Crystal Komara designs a clean, crisp citrus card featuring the challenge colors.  Starting with a polka dotted yellow background, she adds a scallop-edged white layer and adds the fruit from the Lemon Twist stamp and die set.  So bright and fresh!

Sue T. gives us another take using the Lemon Twist stamp and die set. She pulls out the citrus slice image to make an orange, lime, and lemon wedges.  She uses turquoise zig-zag washi tape as well as a polka dotted strip!  Another bright and refreshing card!

Inky Paws Challenge #121 Reminder

for our current challenge!

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge:

It's all about long and skinny with Debbie Owens' cards!  Using different monochromatic color schemes, she uses the ladies from the Holding Happiness stamp set for her CAS style birthday cards. She embosses two sentiments from the Birthday Essentials stamp set.  A strip of black and white diagonal washi tape and some glossy accents provide her finishing touches!

Diane Morales has an amazing talent making circle cards, and this one does not disappoint!  Her little scene shows Newton cleaning up after the celebration!  She uses the vacuuming Newton from the Newton Cleans Up stamp and die set and confetti and hat from the Newton Celebrates stamp and die set.  With the punny sentiment, this card will bring a smile!

Sue T. wonderfully combines elements for a well-balanced CAS card! She creates a circle full of fluffy clouds using the Clouds stencil. She then stamps the sentiment partially outside the circle and offsetting it with the sweet birdie from the  Newton's Birthday Flutter stamp set.  Totally sweetness!

 Becky Noelle's spinner card is packed full of birthday fun!  For her spinning element, she has Newton on his balloon from the Newton's Birthday Bash stamp set twirling around. Her background has light, fluffy balloons from the Clouds stencil with rainbow foil confetti Confetti stencil falling from the sky!  Using the Frames & Flags die set, she stamps her sentiment. 

Crystal Komara's blue monochromatic color scheme is just spectacular! For her circular background, she adds sparkly balloons using the Balloons stencil flying across her blue distressed background, She adds Newton from the Newton's Antics stamp and die set popping out of his box. The birthday hat and blue balloon accents are from the Fabulous Frenchies stamp and die set and are just purr-fectly combined!
