Inky Paws Challenge #141

 Debbie Owens' card looks like a box full of chocolates!  Her glittery coppery background die cut using the Frames & Flags die set showcases the newly released Heartfelt Love stamp set die cut using the scallop-edged die from the Heart Frames die set. She shades the little hearts in shades of browns and caramels.  She adds a bit of Glossy Accents to add some shine to the chocolates. She adds a light tan crimped strip with a brown ribbon and bow. For her little sash across the heart, she combines sentiments from the Heartfelt Love and the Love & Chocolate stamp sets.  Delicious!


You octopi my heart by Diane showcases Tides of Love and Bubbly by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #inkypaws, #cardmaking, #valentinescard
Diane Morales designs a fun Valentine's card showcasing the octopus from the Tides of Love stamp and coordinating die set. She creates a watery backdrop using the Bubbly stencil. She die cuts this in a heart shape.  She adds the sentiment embossed in white on a black card stock strip and a trio of pink hearts.  All of this sits atop a fun white paper with vertical black stripes  Punny and playful!




Snow-one else like you by Sue T. features Frozen Friends by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #inkypaws, #cardmaking
Sue T.'s sweet card combines love with some wintry fun!  She places a white heart-shaped doily atop a kraft card stock and adds a snowflake paper for her strip.  She adds the cute snow couple from the Frozen Friends stamp set. She colors the scarves in pretty red and adds red & white twine for her final touch. A lovely way to tell someone you love them!



We make the purr-fect blend by Amy T. showcases Caffeinated Coffee, Newton Loves Coffee, Darling Hearts, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #coffeecards, #inkypaws, #cardmaking, #valentinescards
Amy T. shows us the power of caffeine and cats with her cute, colorful card!  She stamps and colors all the kittens and cup from the Caffeinated Cats stamp set and die cuts it all using the Framework die set. She adds a light tan stripe with the sentiment from the Newton Loves Coffee stamp set.  Her red, glittery heart is die cut using the Darling Hearts die set. A jute bow is a wonderful finishing touch!

Claire Lamb opts for puppies for her card.  She uses two of the puppies from the Delightful Doxies stamp and coordinating die set and places them on a background with puffy pink clouds created using the Clouds stencil. She creates layers of hearts include a large clear one that allows a glimpse of the inside of the card.  A marvelous way to utilize dies and add a creative feature!  Wonderfully done Ms. Claire!

Inky Paws Challenge #139 Reminder

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge! 


Have a cozy day by Amy features A Cozy Day, Forest Scene Builder, Petite Snow, Frames and Flags, and Land Borders; #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #winter
Amy Tollner shows us how to spend a wintry day--snuggled up reading a book!  Set on a teal base die cut using the scallop-edged frame die from the Frames & Flags die set, she adds a window frame with a winter scene outside. The snow is made using the Petite Snow stencil. The hilly ground uses the Land Borders die set, and the trees were made using the Forest Scene Builder die set. Inside away from the chilly elements is the image from the A Cozy Day stamp set shaded in soft pastel hues. Don't you just want to curl up in that chair too?  




Baby, it's cold outside by Becky features Frozen Friends and Snowfall by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #inkypaws, #cardmaking
Becky Noelle creates a snowy card by using the Snowfall stencil for her falling snow.  She then adds lots of snow people from the Frozen Friends stamp set. She shades each scarf in a color of the rainbow, and the effect is spectacular! 





Keep warm and snuggle up by Debbie features Fireside Friends, Framework, and Frames Squared by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #winter
 Debbie Owens begins with a teal plaid paper die cut using the postage-edged die from the Framework die set. She then adds a wood grain paper die cut using the rounded-corner die from 
Frames Squared die set. She uses the image from Fireside Friends stamp set.  Don't her critters on the teal throw rug look sweet as they soak up the heat?  She adds a jute twine bow to add a bit of country charm.

Diane Morales goes with a pink and teal color scheme that is so cheery and bright!  Using the Frames Squared die set, she creates her square base.  She adds some hilly terrain using the Land Borders die set.  Her trio of kitties all cozy on their sled from the Newton's Toboggan stamp and die set are all set for some wintry fun!  The little pink banner was die cut using a die from the Frames & Flags die set. Cuteness!




It's a hot chocolate kind of day by Sue T. features Cup of Cocoa by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #cardmaking
Sue T.'s card is filled with mugs of hot chocolate--the perfect drink on a cold, wintry day!  Sue uses three mugs from the Cup of Cocoa stamp and die set. With the trio of squares aligned vertically, she adds a splattering of snowflakes.  The mugs are popped up with foam tape to add a nice dimension to this savory card!

Inky Paws Challenge #138 Reminder

    We are sad to announce this will be Crystal Komara's last card as a DT member.  She has truly been inspiring with her amazing creativity, and hopefully we can have her back for a surprise guest appearance.  We wish her much happiness in 2021!  
If snowflakes were kisses by Crystal features Houndstooth, Beautiful Blizzard and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #winter, #cardmaking
Crystal Komara's white and teal colors make for a beautiful winter card! Her teal scallop-edged layer is die cut using the Frames & Flags die set. She adds a light-teal gingham paper and uses the Houndstooth stencil to create her vertical panel.  She embosses the large snowflakes from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp and die set and adds a gem in each center.  A bit of matching twine finishes her soft and lovely card!  




Puppy and plaids, oh my!  Diane Morales uses grays, black and red that are a perfect combination for this puppy from the Christmas Puppies stamp set in his red boot!  She uses the Circle Frames die set for her circle elements. Don't you just love the little bone and the gingham bow! A wonderful way to send holiday greetings to your dog-lovin' friends and family!



Baby it's cold outside by Sue T. features Frozen Friends and Snowfall Roundabout by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #winter, #cardmaking
Sue T. uses creams and neutrals for this amazing winter card! She adds a cream layer die cut using the scallop-edged frame die from the Frames & Flags die set on a Kraft card base. She then embosses all those snowflakes using the Snowfall Roundabout stamp set and die cuts the circles using the Circle Frames set. Paper with a musical score sets you up to begin singing when you see the sentiment "Baby, it's cold outside!"  The snow couple from the Frozen Friends stamp set adds a fabulous playful touch to this elegant setting. 




Wishing you a happy holiday by Becky features Christmas Trimmings by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #christmas, #cardmaking
 Becky Noelle turns the sketch to create this scene of holiday "chaos!"  On a white card base, she embosses a white brick wall. The stripe on the sketch becomes the floor created using pattern paper.  For her trio of circles, she uses the three ladies from the Christmas Trimmings stamp and die set. A fun way to interpret the sketch and bring holiday smiles!

Dashing by with holiday cheer by Debbie features Festive Fawns and Frames & Flags die set by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #christmas, #cardmaking
Debbie Owens coordinates winter-themed papers with the sleigh-pulling deer from  Festive Fawns stamp set. She uses the Frames & Flags die set on the snowflake paper to create the scallop edges.  Using dies from the Circle Frames set, she creates a trio of circles in coordinating papers.  A bit of jute twine and silver dots embellish this delightful card!

Inky Paws Challenge #114 Reminder

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration 
for our current challenge!

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge:

Coffee is always a good idea by Becky features Newton Loves Coffee by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
 Becky Noelle creates a purr-fect blend with her coffee & cat card!  For her striped-paper layer, Becky zig-zag stitches around the edges for a nice touch of texture. Then she adds her center panel on which she stamps the caffeine-loving kitty from the Newton Loves Coffee stamp set. (Don't you love how he looks like he sneaking a sip?)  She adds a pink bow for her final touch!  


Baby it's cold outside by Crystal features Frozen Friends by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
It might be cold outside, but Crystal Komera's snow people will warm your heart! With a baby blue and white color scheme, Crystal creates her layer with a shaker element full of sparkling 'snow'.  She adds the darling snow couple from the Frozen Friends stamp and die set. The red elements really pop against the cool, crisp blue and white colors. 


Dream by Debbie features Newton's Antics, Pawprint Shaker, Newton's Day Dream, Speech Bubbles, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Debbie Owens card features a sleeping calico kitty from the Newton's Antics stamp set. Her layers are die cut from coordinating papers using dies from the Framework and Frames & Flags die sets. For her center panel, she uses the kitty and fish skeleton dies from the Pawprint Shaker die set for the sketch's center element. She creates a dream bubble for her sleeping feline using the Speech Bubbles die set and adds the 'dream' sentiment and fish skeletons from the Newton's Day Dream and Cat-itude stamp sets respectively. 


Love by Diane features Newton Dreams of Italy, Darling Hearts, Tumbling Hearts, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Diane Morales' card will have you yearning for a romantic getaway in Venice!  Using the Tumbling Hearts stencil, she adds a sea of hearts, giving her card texture. She then uses the center die from the Frames & Flags die set to create her panel.  On the bottom, she adds blue water for the gondola from Newton Dreams of Italy stamp and die set to drift upon.  To set the mood, Diane adds a large heart using the Darling Hearts die set behind the kitty gondolier as well as the bold, black sentiment!  {sigh}


Happy blooming birthday by Sue features Peony Blooms, Loads of Blooms, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Sue T. gives us a taste of spring with her floral card paired with striped pattern paper. Using dies from the Frames & Flags die set, she creates her two layers on which she adds her bouquet of pink flowers from the Peony Blooms stamp and die set.  She creatively uses a sentiment from the Loads of Blooms stamp set and stamps it on a die cut circle (Frames Squared die set).  Her bows of pink and lime green add a beautiful touch to this spring card!

Diane Morales creates a wintry haven for this trio of penguins! Using the Petite Snow stencil, Diane creates a snowy background. She then adds those big fir trees using the Evergreens stencil. Diane uses a third stencil, Mountains, to create a snowy landscape on which her softly colored penguins from the Penguin Pile stamp set can stand on. She embosses the sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set.

Have you ever seen a hand standing snowman?  Well,  Sue T. captures the inner child with her playful card that features just such a snowman!  Using the snowman from Frozen Friends stamp set, she places him upside down in a pile of snow created using the Sea Borders die set. The snowy sky was created using the Petite Snow stencil!  Such a wonderful card!


Holiday Wishes to Deer Friends by Becky features Festive Fawns and Snowfall by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
The big, wintry snowflakes make for a perfect background for Becky Noelle's festive card. Becky uses the Snowfall stencil with opal foil for her background. She adds the snowman with his forest friends from the Festive Fawns stamp set. She adds red, scalloped edging on the bottom of her panel that ties the red scarf together wonderfully!



You're snow much fun by Bobbi features Petite Snow, Frozen Fellowship, Speech Bubbles, and Moose Mountain by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Bobbi Lemanski  creates a 5" x 7" card that is packed with snowmen delight!  Using the Petite Snow stencil with embossing paste, she creates a wintry night sky. She then stamps the Frozen Fellowship stamp set twice to create an extra large gathering of snowy people! She colors their accessories in shades of red and green for a Christmas feel. She adds a speech bubble using the Speech Bubbles die set and adds a sentiment from the Moose Mountain stamp set for the sentiment.


Happy Holidays by Debbie featuring Newton's Curious Christmas, Petite Snow, Forest Scene Builder, Stylish Stockings, Snow Globe Scenes, Land Borders, and Holiday Greetings by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Looks like this feline from Newton's Curious Christmas stamp set is helping his friend hang up his holiday stocking!  Debbie Owens creates this whimsical card by using the Petite Snow stencil for her background. She adds some birch trees using the Forest Scene Builder die set and hangs a stocking between them. The stocking was cut from the Stylish Stockings die set on which the wee little snowman from the Snow Globe Scenes stamp set was stamped. She creates some hills using the Land Borders die set and adds lots of glitter. She also adds glitter to the sentiment using the Holiday Greetings die set.

Inky Paws Challenge #88 Winners

Thanks so much to everyone who entered our last Inky Paws Challenge at here at
 the Newton's Nook Designs blog! This Biweekly Challenge was a Color Challenge.

Becca Yahrling creates this wonderful card by partially stamping her background using the Plaid Stencil set. Then she adds a light blue stripe and stamps the sentiment from the Simply Sentimental stamp set.  She colors the graceful bird from the Winter Birds stamp set in light blue and adds a row of gems to finish her design. So pretty!

Kate Taylor's puppy from the Fabulous Frenchies stamp set is just too cute!  She creates a sky blue background which she subtly adds pawprints using the Pawprints stencil set. She then embosses the sentiment in white on a black banner. Just too cute!

Meghan K. creates this delightful CAS card using the Cup of Cocoa stamp set. Her amazing coloring skills makes each cup look delicious.  She adds a splattering of sequins to add sparkle and shine!

Cold weather by Angie C. features Frozen Fellowship and Fireside Friends by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Angie C. creates this wonderful winter card by having her snowmen from the Frozen Fellowship stamp set peeking out of the card's front window.  She adds the sentiment below her window which is from the Fireside Friends stamp set.  She includes glitter on her snowmen which makes the card sparkle!

Whatever floats your goat by Vicki C. features Waves and Floaty Goat by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Vicki C.  gives a summery scene with this darling card.  She creates several layers using the colors red, white, and black. Then she adds her blue water creating waves using the Waves stencil.  Then she adds that cute goat from the Floaty Goat stamp set on his red polka-dotted tube. She stamps the sentiment on a very subtly colored sky. So cute!

Kathy uses the challenge colors fabulously with stylish card.  She creates a black, white, and blue plaid background using the Plaid Stencil set.  Then she adds a red frame which really pops. She adds a silver-glitter snowbank for her hot cocoa lovin' snowman from the Frozen Friends stamp set.  She finishes with sequins. So fun!

Sue T. created this gorgeous card that will warm up your day!  She used the Cup of Cocoa Stamp Set and stamped the cups all over her background, using the colors of the challenge to color them in! What a fun way to create a custom background! Then she cut the scalloped Panel out using the Frames & Flags Die Set. To finish it out she added the sentiment inside an oval from our Ornamental Wishes Stamp Set. So warm and cozy!



Love is in the air by Bobbi features Holding Happiness, Uplifting Wishes, and Delightful Doxies by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook

Bobbi Lemanski creates a fabulous water colored background using the black and blue challenge colors. She then adds the main attraction using the Holding Happiness stamp and die set. The fun sentiment that she stamps on her card is from the Uplifting Wishes stamp set. To add even more fun, she adds extra balloons floating away using the Delightful Doxies stamp and die set.


Snow-one else like you by Becky features Frozen Friend and Plaid by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Becky Noelle brings us this cozy scene with the snowmen from the Frozen Friends stamp set enjoying a cup of hot cocoa. She creates that fabulous plaid background using the Plaid stencil set. She uses a textured paste to create the white layer. Then finishes the plaid by using red ink. She wraps red and white twine around the bottom before adding dimension tape for a 3D look. Delightful!


I'd rather be in NYC by Debbie features Newton Dreams of New York, Framework, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnoo
Debbie Owens creates a water colored background for her New York scene which she die cuts using the Framework die set. Those tall building and spotted kitty are from the Newton Dreams of New York stamp set as is the sentiment which she embosses in white before die cutting with a banner die from the Frames & Flags die set. She adds Glossy Accents to the apple for a bit of shine. Fun!
