Inky Paws Challenge #247 Week 1

 

It's December!

Time to get bring on the 

Holiday Sparkle & Shine!

You have THREE weeks to get creative adding sparkle & shine to your holiday projects!

You have from Monday, December 1, 2025 to Friday, December 19, 2025 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!  The winners will be announced on the NND blog the following Monday.  Make sure you check the challenge rules page before you link up your project. 

Here's some inspiration.  

December is the perfect time to add some bling to your crafts so bring out your glitters, foils, sequins and sparkle pastes to create a card with some shimmer and shine! Create a winter or holiday card with sparkly snowflakes or jump ahead and send a little New Year's cheer! A little bit of sparkle makes everyone happy! Let's see what bling the IPC team used!

Danni Bindel creates a very scenic room filled with holiday magic! She uses gold foil with the present sheet from the 'Tis the Season Toner Card Fronts. She die cuts using the scallop-edged die from the Frames & Flags die set. She then adds an oval frame (Oval Frames die set) with the little living room scene from the Christmas Nap stamp and coordinating die set. She adds her sentiment to a banner. Just love that orange, comfy chair!

Debbie Owens creates a wintry CAS card using one of the little snowmen from the Snowman Postage Sampler stamp set. She places him on a layered snowflake created using the Snowfall die set. She adds another snowflake using the same die set. She selects a snowy paper from the Snow Flurries paper pad. Her last touch is die cutting the sentiment from the A Hug in a Mug die in a red foil.  A darling way to add a bit of shine and sparkle!

 Kelly Santi's bright purple and pink paper from the Snow Flurries paper pad makes for a gorgeous backdrop for her snowman from the Snowman Greetings stamp and coordinating die set.  Kelly uses the Forest Scene Builder die set to add a trio of trees in the background.  A breathtaking scene!

Amy Tollner uses the trio of kitties from the Newton's Christmas Tree stamp and coordinating die set for the star attraction of her holiday card. She uses the Card Layout 4 die for her card design with the green glitter paper from the Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment and the strings of light paper from the Christmas Party paper pad. She stamps her sentiment on a little tag created using the Frames & Tags die set. A magical scene to celebrate the season!

Claire Lamb is back with her incredible distressing skills. She then adds lot of snowflakes using the Snowfall die set with some blue glitter paper from the Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment. For her sentiment, she uses the Snowman Postage Sampler stamp and coordinating die set.  A gorgeous way to wish for snow!

Don't forget you have until December 19, 2025 to add some glitter and shine to your holiday projects!

Claire Lamb uses the challenge colors to create a serene, wintry forest scene. Her trees and pink birds were created using the Forest Scene Builder die set. For her snowy hills, she uses the Land Borders die set. She finishes with a sentiment from the Scandi Christmas die set. A beautiful scene!




Crystal Minkler uses the Caffeinated Cats stamp set and spotlights a few of the kitties using the Circle Frames die set. Her panel was die cut using the Framework die set to create the postage edging. So pretty and creative!



Danni Bindel showcases papers from the Love & Woofs paper pad using the Heart Frames and the Frames & Flags die set to create the many layers. She then features the darling puppy from the Puppy Heart stamp set. All those fun patterns make for such a playful Valentine's card!



Debbie Owens also features a Valentine's card. For her background, she uses the Tumbling Hearts stencil. She makes a jar using the Jar Hot Foil Plate & Die and fills it with converstation hearts using the Candy Heart stamp set. She pulls a sentiment from the Love & Chocolate stamp set. A super sweet card!




Need a mid-day pick up? Amy Tollner's coffee-themed cards is packed full of caffeinated cuteness! She creates her scallop-edged panel (Frames & Flags die set) using the Mugs Stencil. She creates her scallop-edged heart using the Heart Frames die set and stamps the Heartfelt Coffee heart-shaped image. She colors all those mugs and cups using the challenge colors. Her sentiment is placed on a banner using the Banner Trio die set.

Irene R.'s CAS card may have you heading to a tree farm. She uses the vintage truck from the Farming Fun stamp set. She then adds a small forest of pine trees from the Forest Scene Builder die set including one in the truck bed. She pulls a sentiment from the Snow Much Cheer stamp set.  Darling!

Debbie's FAVE

Jennifer K.'s cozy scene is so serene that you'll want to join those furballs!  She uses the Fireside Friends stamp set and lightly colors them. She adds the dark red, striped paper from the Canine Christmas paper pad and some pine boughs for a beautiful holiday card. 

Amy's FAVE

Beverly's green snowy background using the Snowflake stencil is so bright and cheerful.  She adds a red, vintage truck (Holiday Haul stamp and coordinating die set). A fabulous way to send holiday cheer!

Claire's FAVE

Katrina's scalloped Kraft frame with the added pawprints works wonderfully with the little feline and his candy cane.  This sweet image is from the Candy Cane stamp set. Such a delightful card!

Crystal's FAVE

Carri's red and white snowy papers look amazing with the snow people from the Frosy Friends stamp and die set. The green accessories on the snow people and the Kraft gift card holder bring in the other challenge colors and work fabulously on this project!

Crystal's FAVE

Angy Hughes was also inspired to create a coffee-themed card using the challenge colors. She uses the  Mugs stencil to create a colorful background.  She then adds the image from the Sips & Stories stamp set.  The overall effect is a cozy scene just right for a little kitty cuddle, a good book, and a cup of java!

Danni's FAVE

Danielle creates a wonderful summer scene with the hibiscus floral background (Hibiscus )stencil. The little puppies from the Corgi Beach stamp and die set look like they are having the time of their life on their floaties. Danielle also uses the Flags & Frames die set. 

Debbie's FAVE

Meghan uses orange, teal, and yellow for her patch of pumpkins which is just so cute, and those tan kitties--adorable!  This image is from the Pumpkin Patch stamp set.  Meghan's use of fun pattern papers adds to the overall cuteness of her card!  

Amy's FAVE

Gail was also inspired to use the challenge colors for a pumpkin patch scene, and her pattern paper is perfect for the job.  She adds some trees using the Forest Scene Builder die set, and her latte-laden lady is looking fabulous in her polka dotted coat. This fun image is from the Pumpkin Latte stamp and coordinating die set.  Gail also uses the Framework die set.  A lovely autumn scene!

Claire's FAVE

Jennifer K. uses the retiring Knight Owl stamp set for her fabulous card!  Her little knight in shining armor sits atop a branch with a gorgeous full moon behind him. A fabulously designed card!

Claire Lamb's rainbow card is absolutely darling!  With the colorful background, Amy uses the towering cake image from the \Newton's Birthday Delights stamp and coordinating die set and colors each layer in a rainbow color. She creates a square card which showcases the scallop-edged die from the Frames Squared die set.  A sprinkling of gems finishes off this super colorful card!  

Crystal Minkler creates a beautiful, winter night background just perfect for her snowman and puppy from the Holiday Heights stamp and coordinating die set. For her stripes, Crystal cleverly uses the trees from the Forest Scene Builder die set. She adds some snow hills using the Land Borders die set. For the postage-edging, Crystal uses the Framework die set. What a fabulous way to interpret the challenge theme!

Danni Bindel's card is going to appeal to all our dog lovers out there!  She colors all those sweet puppies from the Never Enough Dogs stamp set in all shades of browns and grays. She then creates the scalloped and the postage-edged layers using the Framework die set. Those vertical stripes are from the A Dog's Life paper pad. Her last element is the sentiment in a stitched circle (Circle Frames die set).  A delightful happy place!

Can't decide what paper to use?  Then do what Debbie Owens does!  She makes stripes using 9 different designs from the Birthday Meows paper pad giving her card a very fun, celebratory feel.  She adds a vellum oval using the Oval Frames die set. She places those delightful mice from the Birthday Mice stamp set on the vellum with a pop of dimension tape.  She uses the Birthday Greetings Hot Foil Plates to create her gold sentiment.  Check out Deb's blog to see a couple more fun cards using strips of papers for her stripes!

Amy Tollner makes the cutest shaker card using the newly released Celebration Embellishment Mix.  She creates a nice book shelf complete with our very own Newton from the Newton's Book Club stamp and coordinating die set. She adds the striped paper from the Birthday Meows paper pad that coordinates purr-fectly with her pastel books.  She creates the scallop-edging using a die from the Frames & Flags die set. For her sentiment, she uses a banner die from the Banner Trio die set.  Sweet!

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge! 

As we bring you this week's inspiration, we want take to moment say good-bye to one of our amazing Inky Paws design team members, Diane Morales. 

Diane has been a long time part of the Inky Paws Challenge, first as a challenge participant and then a team member! Over the years her amazing shaped cards and creative interpretations of the challenges have provided so much inspiration! For her final IPC card, Diane doesn't disappoint. Below is here final IPC card, and it's just the cutest!

Diane uses the ever cute kitten from the Kitten Beach stamp and die set playing in his bucket of sand.  Joining him is a little red crab!  Diane creates a subtle background using the shell images from the same stamp set.  Her stitched circle was created using a die from the Circle Frames die set.  Those bright, summery papers are from the Summertime paper pad. Diane completes her card with matching enameled dots.  Another amazing card, Diane!

A big thank you to Diane for all her amazing projects over the years!

Crystal O. Minkler selects a mixture of papers from the A Cat's Life paper pad to create colorful layers for her card.  Crystal uses the Frames & Flags die set to create the scallop edges.  Sitting on a scalloped vellum oval (Oval Frames die set) is her sweet gray kitten from the Newton Loves Tacos stamp and coordinating die set.  This little guy is definitely enjoying his special day with a tasty taco!  Great job, Crystal!

Debbie Owens combines two stamp sets to create this playful and fun card!  That sweet kitten from the Newton's Flower Garden stamp set is stalking those red birds from the Birdhouse Greetings stamp set. She embosses the center oval (Oval Frames die set) and adds a sentiment cloud (Sky Scene Builder die set).  For the sketch stripes, Deb uses the Trailing Leaves stencil. Her bright blue background was die cut using the Frames & Flags die set to create the scallop edges.  A fabulous combination of products for such a fun card!

Amy Tollner designs a bright blue & pink birthday card purr-fect for anyone!  Her scallop-edged background was created using the A7 Frames & Banners die set. She adds blue balloon paper from the Birthday Party paper pad. For her oval (Oval Frames die set), Amy adds lots of confetti using the Confetti stencil.  That precious kitty holding his helium-filled balloons is from the Newton's Birthday Balloons stamp and coordinating die set.  What a way to celebrate a birthday!

Claire Lamb takes a creative take on the sketch with the sun (Oval Frames die set) being her oval element.  She adds some trees (Forest Scene Builder die set) and grassy knolls (Land Borders die set) that makes a perfect setting for her trio of fawns from the Deer Friend stamp and die set. This set is retiring, so be sure to get your set before they are all gone!  Don't you love how the grass is sun kissed?  Great job, Claire!
